I went to a trial vocal lesson with Kairat. I paid 10,000tenge. The lesson turned out to be terrible (described below), I informed the administrator about it, but they refused to refund me.
About the lesson:
A person admires himself excessively.
He divides people, moreover, he always defines himself to the highest category:
1. Many teachers boast that such a teaching method is their own, but he is not like that, he does not speak like that (even here he praises himself against the background of other teachers)
2. What can be told in a minute, he tells in 5 minutes, singing between the lines of himself, his values and so on. About half of the lesson was spent on conversations, moreover, he talked about himself for about 20-25 minutes. I'm not a sucker for words. I don't care whose technique I use. Comfort and results are important to me, not talking about the coolness of the teacher and his values. It's worth telling about it, but briefly, and not stretching it into a whole monologue.
He always evaluates, especially failures, and does it tactlessly and ugly:
1. Casually mentioned that the 40-year-old woman who goes to him has much better physical fitness than the 23-year-old me (I was not offended by the fact that there are more active women in age, but offended by the comparison, which is not clear why it was voiced)
2. Each of my vocal failures was accompanied by a sour expression on the teacher's face. I don't mind comments, I have a lot to work on, but it's unpleasant to see the teacher's "sour" face every time. You can comment on it in a human way.
3. At the end of the lesson, I began to analyze my cons for about 15 minutes, which I then called "strokes". I listened for 15 minutes about what was wrong with me. And the fact that I have some of the skills, I heard very casually, in a very abstract formulation at the end of communication 1 time. In my opinion, it is important to talk not only about what a student does not have, but also about what he has.
Likes to put labels on:
1. At the beginning of the lesson, she said that she had not been practicing vocals for 8 years, but she tried to do it herself, I can do something. The teacher immediately said that there was a lot of work, everyone said that they could sing, and then it turned out that they could not (is this normal?). Yes, my voice is bad on a professional level, but I'm not a professional either. For an amateur, I have basic skills, at the amateur level I did not come with absolutely zero. Why is he broadcasting labels like that without even listening? That is, is all a person's good opinion of their voice wrong?
2. At the end of the lesson, he mentioned that there was a lot of work to be done. At that moment, my patience was almost over, and I asked if someone came with whom there was little work, to which the teacher laughed and said: "no, I tell everyone so." What for? If people had a good voice, they wouldn't come to him.
Perhaps he has good techniques that work - it's not clear from the first lesson. But it is simply impossible for me to deal with such an arrogant person, no matter what techniques he possesses. The whole lesson was tactful bullying between the lines.
