I liked the museum, it is unusual, beautiful, expensive and large, like everything in Baku. And of course the way to the museum is interesting. We didn't take the tour, we translated it from English, but we have all the information. The guides answer the questions and understand both Russian and English. You can ask. The location of the carpets is very interesting. There is an interactive screen. There is a wonderful woman in the museum who weaves a carpet online. But most of all, I was pleased with the organized groups of small children who were brought to the museum and told them the history of the country. There is an interesting souvenir shop on the ground floor, but they don't speak Russian or English well, so despite the uniqueness of the souvenirs, they didn't buy anything.

Since carpets are everything in Azerbaijan, this museum is about that. Different styles, symbols, colors, interesting architecture. Next to the flower-shaped shopping center, where there is a food court and a supermarket and a park on the embankment. After walking around the museum, you can have a snack nearby and take a walk.

A great place to hide from the sweltering heat and sip the local flavor. Inside there is a coffee shop, a coworking, a library, a souvenir shop, luggage storage and, of course, a museum exhibit. In my opinion, it is better to go with a guide or an audio guide — I was without them, and there was a great lack of explanations of the symbolism of ornaments and images on carpets. There are explanatory signs somewhere (in English and Azerbaijani), but the time was limited, so I missed a lot — the place was still amazing. There are few people, national music is playing, and women are weaving carpets in life mode. I want to come back here!

The museum is great for those who are interested in applied art and the history of the people. Many thanks to the guide Samira for an interesting story. The exhibits are beautiful, everything is clear. It would be interesting to see more national costumes - there are not many of them. It was not possible to take an audio guide (they said at the checkout that it was not available). And in general, thank you for the positive emotions!!!

A very beautiful, modern museum. We took a guide who told us about the meaning of the patterns on the carpet, as well as the connection of the pattern on the dishes, etc. The very technology of pile carpet production is a special pleasure and admiration. Definitely recommend a visit! The price is 10 manat for a ticket and 12 manat for a guide

It's a beautiful building. An interesting legacy story. Be sure to take a Russian guide-it's inexpensive and will help you learn the history of Carpet creation since the birth of this culture.

The Carpet Museum is located on the embankment, it is open from 10:00 to 18:00, on weekends until 20:00. The cost of a visit for foreigners is 10 manats, and for citizens 7. You can take an excursion, the cost of which is 15 manats. There is also an audio guide, available in Russian. There are a lot of exhibits in the museum, and the architecture and shape of the museum building itself are very interesting.

Recently I had a chance to visit the Museum of Azerbaijani Carpet, and I was very impressed by this wonderful place. The museum is located in a building made in the form of a rolled carpet, which immediately attracts attention and creates an atmosphere of mystery. Inside the museum there is a huge collection of Azerbaijani carpets made in different techniques and styles. The guide told us about the intricacies of weaving pile and lint-free carpets and showed us how these works of art are created. I especially remember the story that a dragon is often depicted on carpets, and if you see a mysterious figure on the carpet, you can most likely say that it is him. In general, the Museum of Azerbaijani Carpets is a wonderful place for those who are interested in the culture and traditions of Azerbaijan, and also want to learn more about the history and art of carpet weaving! :) Sincerely, Apartments Crown39 For tourists visiting Kaliningrad, we offer a variety of accommodation options

Walking through the park on the embankment, it is not possible to pass by this beautiful building, built in the shape of a carpet. It's a very beautiful building. We haven't got inside yet - the holidays. But one of these days we will definitely go and fill up the review with photos inside.

The Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum was established on March 13, 1967. At the time of its creation, it was the only specialized carpet museum in the world. Everything is interesting here. The building itself is built in the form of a carpet rolled into a roll. The guide told us very interestingly and in detail about the history of carpet weaving. The meaning of the drawings on the carpets. Natural dyes were used. There are antique carpets on display and new ones.

The museum is a must-visit in all guidebooks and is located at the intersection of the main tourist arteries. Carpet art is a cultural heritage, of course, but in general the museum is a bit boring, even with an audio guide. The prices in the souvenir shop are simply cosmic, it is not possible to buy anything in it, but it is a pity. The building has an original shape, but the interior space is not used functionally. The ticket price is very reasonable, it makes up for everything

Briefly about the main thing for those who do not hang a carpet on the wall ["Carpets used to be in every house, but now they joke about it: a photo on the background of a carpet has become synonymous with bad taste, as well as the carpets themselves on the walls. A kind of funny and ridiculous relic of the Soviet past"]: "... often a dragon is depicted on carpets, and if you see some mysterious figure on the carpet, you can most likely say that it is him"! The main thing is short - Monday is a day off... Postscript: "... only for the sake of the carpet museum [the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum was established on March 13, 1967] can you go to Baku," and I served there in 198? in the so-called "Wild Division" (Salyan barracks).

Like it. Although I probably should also take a guide. That's how you get tired of reading in English. I especially liked how one woman creates a carpet by hand. It's a masterpiece. She told us that it takes her 4 months of painstaking work to make one carpet. And yes. After standing for an hour, you understand why carpets are so expensive.

A very beautiful unusual shape of the building, but this alone is already impressive! At the very beginning, at the ticket office at the entrance, we managed to see how a large carpet was created by a woman's hands, very cool) Then we went to see the exhibition, took an audio guide. Impressions: 1) There are a lot of... carpets inside))) I got a little tired at some point, but on the whole it's interesting, because you can learn the story through carpets. 2) the museum does not target a Russian-speaking audience, as there were no signs (visited in 2022) 3) the floor is falling apart in places (in the video) In general, I recommend it for a visit.

The National Carpet Museum. Azerbaijan is Baku. It is open from 10:00 to 18:00 on Monday. The exposition consists mainly of carpets that are located on two floors. It probably makes sense to explore with a guided tour. The cost of the visit is 10 manats. In addition, for three manats you can see a jewelry exhibition. They don't let you rent a small room. But I think it's worth a visit. In the Museum you can see how the craftsmen weave carpets, which is called live. A mandatory place to visit if you are in Baku. The examination will take at least two hours. Numerous souvenirs are sold and the opportunity to analyze the carpet and obtain permits for export abroad.

We came to Baku for a few days and decided to visit this museum. From the outside, the building looks majestic and interesting from the point of view of design, there is no doubt. Having gone inside and bought tickets, without a guide, we managed to walk through all the halls up and down in 15 minutes - the time does not fit at all with the scale of the building from the outside, alas. In general, it will be enough for 1 time. Of interest is the history of the development of the carpet-making craft, real national costumes and musical instruments, the opportunity to purchase a carpet or a small rug as a keepsake.

It's definitely a very authentic place. Everything is great, carpets, history, showy girls who weave carpets right on the spot, carpets that you can buy with a certificate and bring safely to your home. I also found out that they hold carpet weaving workshops there. It's a pity that I found out about it so late and didn't have time. To make a 10* 10 rug for yourself, you need to lay it for about 5-6 hours, if you want to pick it up later. If you don't have to pick it up, then for an hour, just try to understand the mechanics of the process :) I hope others will see the review and will know that it is possible)

It is striking from the very first minute, starting with the shape of the museum itself, the shape in the form of a carpet. Exhibits from the 16th century, which have practically survived, colors / paints. The disadvantage is that there is no Russian translation in Azerbaijan, and it was not always possible to read the tables with the description.

A modern museum revealing the beauty of carpets, their history of use not only in homes, and the craftsmanship of weaving. It is interesting to visit it with an excursion. On the second floor, you can see the craftswoman at work. There is also an exhibition of national costumes I didn't take off the star for wildly expensive souvenirs. Even in the old town, the same thing is much cheaper.

A wonderful museum with wonderful exhibits! 3 floors -2 only about carpets, on the 1st floor there are ticket offices, souvenirs, a place where workshops and a bar are held. The audio guide was not working at the museum during our visit. We found an audio guide on the Internet and listened with great pleasure to what types of carpets there are, how they differ, what patterns are characteristic of a particular region, how wool was processed and dyed. The museum staff is friendly and courteous. The ascent and descent is carried out by an escalator, there is an elevator. You can leave a review in the review book. I sincerely recommend you to visit

I love carpets and have long wanted to visit this museum! I found out about it when I was in the museum at the carpet exhibition in Kazan, and so I was lucky to be passing through Baku. The museum looks cool from the outside and interesting inside. There are a lot of carpets and they are all very different and beautiful. The museum employs women who weave carpets and you can look at this process, which is very fascinating and interesting. There are cells where you can leave your belongings. There is also a shop inside where you can buy various souvenirs.

The museum building impresses with its architectural find and size. You can talk a lot about the need or lack of need to visit this museum, but to see with your own eyes how a carpet is woven is worth a lot. It's such an art! And it is very nice to see a lot of children who are brought to the museum for a puppet show. I recommend you to visit as an opportunity to touch the living historical beauty.

My friend and I visited the museum in early October 2023. Asya Khanum and a wonderful colleague told us all about the palace carpets, showed us all the features and secrets of the drawings. The carpet with a pattern in the form of a bracelet, which belonged to the Asi Khanum family, is still in front of my eyes. Carpet Museum, Baku 🇦🇿 Handmade carpets today and hundreds of years ago are just a work of art: there are so many styles, patterns, compositions, ornaments that, as we learned, are associated with the region where these carpets were made 🗺️ The joke about watching a carpet instead of a TV is not a joke at all. Some carpets can really be viewed for hours. Especially when there are not just patterns, but various plots and stories 🪡🧶🪢 The museum is impressive starting from the building itself - it is decorated in the form of a rolled carpet with an ornament 🤗 #baku #bakuazerbaijan🇦🇿 #azerbaijan #carpet Museum #baki #bakiazerbaycan #azcarpetmuseum
