I turned to this service based on a recommendation (Ignat was praised as an excellent craftsman). A fairly simple operation is to replace the USB ports in the MacBook Pro with other ones (the old ones didn't always work). Since the laptop is working, we agreed that I would give it back on Thursday evening and pick it up on Monday morning. I made a preliminary call and the first bell immediately appeared here - the girl on the phone said that this could not be done, they would give it back on Tuesday. After calling again, they said they would give it back on Monday morning (as agreed), but that's not the point.
On Monday morning, the laptop was given away, I brought it to my office, I turn it on and see that the system does not boot. A window pops up asking you to connect to the Internet and insert a boot disk. I do this in slight perplexity, but after restarting, the same window appears again. I go to the Apple website, read all the recommendations (try wired Internet, disable Secure Boot, and so on), try, nothing helps. After an hour of fuss, I dial Ignat, list the symptoms and attempts, and get an answer that I tried everything right, they would have tried the same thing on the SC. When asked about the reasons, the answer is that they turned off the battery, and in this case, protection is triggered on the new Apple Silicon. The argument that I have Apple on Intel was ignored.
Okay, I'm taking the laptop back to the SC. This is followed by an approximately 45-minute conversation with Ignat, a brief extract from which:
1. Disconnecting the battery triggered the protection. It is unclear why it does not turn off.
2. In safe mode, Disk Utility finds more than 100 errors on the disk, but fixing them does not help.
3. The laptop was not checked after repair (did not turn on) because... We didn't give you the password! But what prevented it from simply turning on and reaching the system boot? That's right - no password (this argument has been repeated more than 10 times).
4. Why was it not reported by phone that the laptop was behaving inappropriately after repair? What is desirable to diagnose? No response.
5. The only suggested solution is to simply reinstall the system. The argument that this does not eliminate the original cause in any way is not accepted.
Then the attacks on me begin:
"And who even saw that this laptop was serviceable?"
- "You called us 3 or 4 times, I immediately realized that something was wrong."
After such a theater of absurdity, the slightest desire to continue the conversation disappeared. I picked up the faulty laptop and took it to another service. As a result, it turned out that the SSD disk was damaged (hello, the ABC of Laptops with their proposal to simply rearrange the system), which explained the errors on the disk. By the way, their first question was "Why did you take the faulty laptop?"
In the dry balance:
1. Several days of time were lost for the initial "repair" and elimination of its consequences.
2. The money paid to ABC laptops is lost.
3. The mood is spoiled by the unprofessional and impolite behavior of the director of the company.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.
