A wonderful legend about the origin of the recipes, wonderful staff (well-trained, inconspicuous, but very attentive). Besides, when I flew to Tbilisi for a couple of days, I was terrified of food. It's delicious, but very monotonous and heavy. And Barbarestan is a deeply and almost molecularly processed classic that leaves you wanting to try other dishes. Excellent serving, competent sommelier, well done. It's quite an Instagram point of attraction.

A great restaurant. The interior is very cozy. Interesting storytelling both about the restaurant itself and about the menu, which, by the way, changes every two months so that guests can try as many dishes as possible from the very cookbook of the early 20th century, which, according to legend, formed the basis for the creation of the restaurant. The cuisine is author's, Georgian rather in terms of ingredients, in fact closer to European. After a week, khinkali and khachapuri are just like a breath of fresh air. Probably the best restaurant in Tbilisi that I visited during two trips.

We celebrated our birthday with a small company. Most likely the best place in Tbilisi. Haute cuisine with a hint of Georgian. It's expensive, but definitely worth it. There is no wine list, but the sommelier is willing to offer wines of any price category. The whole company was left in awe. I do not attach photos of the dishes-be sure to try them yourself.

They invented a story with an ancient book that they found, and they are now cooking according to the recipes of this book. The cuisine is far from Georgian, it is more tailored to European .....I did not like anything. Maxim, the eldest in the restaurant, imposes dishes himself, since there is no Russian translation on the menu, he also picks up the wine himself, at prices it turns out to be a complete surprise, the check is sky-high. Outerwear is hung on top of each other on standing hangers, it takes a lot of time to find clothes. Pathetic, not tasty (absolutely not in Georgian) and delicious!!!

I was here 7 years ago and then I wrote an enthusiastic review on fb. Then everything was fine: the food, the wine, and the service. But times seem to be changing. The food is delicious, although not so good anymore. An ordinary simple wine, after being kept in a bottle for 3 years after bottling, turned into a bitter mess. The service is good, I didn't notice any intrusiveness. The price tag was deservedly horse, now undeservedly horse. There are restaurants in this price category that are a cut above.
