This review is more about Ochamchira itself and the embankment. The city is more a port than a resort. We visited the embankment, drove through all the central streets, and looked at the city market. We spent most of our time on the waterfront. The promenade is not very long, but well maintained. There are few famous umbrellas left. The beach on the embankment is sandy, the sand is dark, closer to black.

We were at the beginning of July 25 in the area of the police station and the sculpture "okhota" - a cat on a tree. Destroyed houses right by the beach, the toilet is closed-the smells of urine from the windows of destroyed cafes and abandoned houses, someone dropped a brown "bomb" on the stairs to the sea. There is one cafe and a coffee shop next to it, made from a container. It can be seen that they have begun (after 30 years, already since the 90s) to put the paving slabs in order, but the tin resuscitation is slow. Probably the budget does not collect taxes from landlords and the money from the newcomers settles 100% in the pockets of the tenants. One plus is that there are practically ZERO people :))) There is also a ruined cafe and pub at the entrance, as well as a battered sculptural fountain. The tactics seem to be this-people will go out of desperation, and only then something can be built and restored-investments are prohibited from outside🤷🏻♂️

We plow there twice a year, in winter and in summer. On the beach itself, the wood debris was cleared only where the sunbeds were placed. And where there is a pebble beach. We did not use them, but there is an inscription that they are paid (200 rubles per hour). After the storm, they collect garbage and burn it right on the beaches, there is a hellish smell of burning, which is the most terrible thing. Ochamchire has sparsely populated beaches, the water is clean if the weather does not let you down. There is no entertainment in the evening, people who are tired of the hustle and bustle of the city can relax. I really hope that they will not stop and will continue to restore the embankment and the city.
