During our short trip to Azerbaijan, we visited the famous cultural and religious heritage site Besh-Barmag Mountain (five fingers). This is one of the most recognizable and revered natural attractions in the vicinity of Baku and is a must-visit. Besh-Barmag is not just a natural monument, but also a place of pilgrimage and an ancient shrine of Azerbaijan. There are many legends and beliefs connected with it, the mountain was a place of worship of the ancient Khazars even before Islam came to this land. People still come here to pray, make a wish, and even perform a sacrificial rite of slaughtering a lamb. You can climb the mountain by climbing a steep staircase, going up about 300 steps and climbing a pile of rocks and stones, once at the top, enjoy the breathtaking view. Believe me, it's worth it. Well, a nice bonus ... will be the signature tea from Uncle Yasha, who has built an amazing table on top, where you can not only drink tea and admire the beautiful views, but also taste pomegranates, dates, quinces or walnut tubes. A unique place. After the descent, a delicious sturgeon kebab and lula in lavash from roadside kebab makers were waiting for us at the bottom of the highway, as well as a tasting of locally made black caviar. Those who wish can immediately buy a couple of cans with them at an attractive price.

The mountain is located about 80 km from Baku. Of course, the landscapes from it and near it are beautiful, you can see the coast of the Caspian Sea. We were supposed to have a tea party at the top. However, climbing it is fraught with problems for health, joints and knees, since the ascent is carried out by a steep iron ladder. In this connection, our ascent was interrupted. By the way, neither the Tripster nor the guide recommended by him warned about this. It should also be borne in mind that this is not a cheap trip.

You can get to the mountain by any car, the mountain road is not difficult. The car was parked in the lower parking lot, and then we walked up the steps, it took 20 minutes to climb to the bottom. You can drive ahead and take the car up to the top. Further up the mountain itself, it will be difficult for obese people. There is an observation deck at the top, with stunning views of the Caspian Sea and mountains. We were in the period of the poppy blossoming, at the foot of the mountain in the middle of April, everything was blooming like a red carpet.
