The Pushkin Library is the first public library in the city: it was officially opened in February 1901, and in June of the same year began the actual service of readers. In 1906, the library moved to the building at 87 Sovetskaya Street, where it is located today. The total collection of the library is about 61,000 copies, including literature in foreign languages, and the annual number of readers reaches about 6,650 people. The library has a museum room dedicated to the life and work of Alexander Pushkin, which has 267 exhibits. During the Great Patriotic War, in June 1944, the library building and funds were destroyed in an explosion, but after the liberation of the city, the library was restored and resumed work in its former location. In 2003-2004, the building was renovated and reopened in an updated form.

Childhood memories, the smell of books, silence and anticipation of new stories and adventures, you just have to choose a book and open the cover, sit on the sofa and immerse yourself in another life.
