This monument shows a horseman in motion, as if Hetman Khmelnitsky froze for a second before starting his horse into a gallop. Although this monument seems disproportionate to me, it depicts a truly historical figure whose activities can be interpreted in different ways. It is located on a small cozy square near Khreshchatyk and the Golden Gate. Bogdan Khmelnitsky looks impressive against the background of the bell tower of St. Sophia Cathedral. From here it is best to continue on to St. Michael's Cathedral.
