I visited the Museum of local lore in Borjomi and left surprised — not just by the beauty, but by the feeling that the house preserves the memory, and she lives there. The museum is located in an old mansion of the 19th century, when Borjomi was already known as a resort — the house belonged to a rich family of entrepreneurs, mineral water dealers, and it is immediately visible: the facade, carved shutters, high ceilings — everything suggests that it was built with taste and with the expectation of many years. Inside, the rooms are laid out as if you live in this house: in the hallway there are shoes, hats, canes, a mirror with a dark frame. Where there was a salon — antique armchairs, a ladies' umbrella, thin painted cups — everything reminds that people not only lived here, but also received guests, shared news, maybe even secret conversations by candlelight. The kitchen is simple, but the smells of bread and spices still seem to hang in the air. A wrought—iron hearth, wooden spoons, jugs, woven bedspreads - and all the things with a history: some passed down by descendants, some found in the attic. The exhibits tell how the life of Borjomi people has changed: household items, clothes, jewelry — the influence of both Russian, Ottoman, and maybe Persian styles is visible. There is a corner where old thermal baths and baths are shown, in small photographs and drawings — how people came for treatment, rested, how the first sanatoriums were built, how the paths along the mountains of the mineralka river were filled with toboggan carriages, and later with cars. The house itself is said to have survived several earthquakes, restorations, and a change of owners: after revolutions and wars, it belonged to different structures, sometimes empty, sometimes used as a public space. It has been restored now, but it feels like the walls have preserved the "past": parquet creaks, cracks in plaster, wooden beams. I left with the theme: the museum doesn't just show things — it shows the spirit of the times, respect for the roots, for the people who lived in these mountains, to the fact that everything is not just a layer of history, but the living fabric of culture. If you are in Borjomi, be sure to come in, spend a couple of hours, sit in the hall, look not only at the showcases, but also at the ceiling, beyond the windows — maybe you will see how the light falls through the carved window, and you will understand how this house lives.

It's an amazing place. A historic 19th century building and a museum that has been operating since 1938. Extensive exposition. It's worth a look.

The exposition is not the most intense, the first floor has repeating exhibits, hairpins, spear tips, jugs, the second floor is more interesting, weapons, dishes of the Romanov family and everything related to Borjomi water are presented, stuffed animals of Georgia and some geological samples are presented on the third floor
