The Bukhara Museum of Fine Arts is located in the building of the former trading house of Savva Morozov, built in 1912. The museum seemed quite interesting. The museum's collections are mainly paintings by Soviet artists, including P.P. Benkov, G.V. Sobolev-Melekhov, and there are modern paintings. The exposition of decorative and applied art objects, as well as the "golden pantry", also seemed interesting. The entrance ticket is 60,000 UZS.

Firstly, it is the only currently operating museum of fine arts in Uzbekistan (at least from three cities - Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara), the rest are closed for repairs indefinitely. Therefore, the opportunity to see paintings reflecting the local flavor is very valuable. The museum is not small, it has two floors and several halls. I especially liked the landscapes of Bukhara in the 1920s and 1940s, and the gallery of portraits of local residents of the same period. Wonderful genre paintings about cotton harvesting, road construction, etc. The entrance ticket is unrealistically cheap, the museum clearly deserves more. And it needs to be developed and expanded.
