Good Carvan Hotel
It's a very nice hotel, it's small. The atmosphere is homely, cozy with them. We were there for 11 days (we came to celebrate the anniversary of our wife and never regretted it). Friendly and sincere staff, will tell you what and how, will help in everything. For Istanbul, the breakfasts are just great, everything is fresh. It is worth noting that a coffee machine with different types of decent coffee, as well as lemonade and water in the cooler is available around the clock and free of charge. The room is small (106), but in Istanbul it is needed just to sleep. There is always hot water, a kettle, air conditioning and a refrigerator work flawlessly, TV has hundreds of channels, the Olympics were on 823 and 824 channels, by the way. There are no complaints about cleaning, the Armenian family cleans, changes and replenishes what is needed flawlessly. In general, there is nothing to complain about, except that there is no safe, but it is not particularly needed. The decency of the owners and the sense of security are beyond doubt. The main attractions are within walking distance, to the tram stop T1 (the main artery for tourists) Nothing at all. There will be an opportunity to visit Istanbul again, of course we will stay at the Carvan Hotel, the price-quality ratio is completely satisfied.

The rooms are compact, the mattresses are comfortable, moderately hard, central heating, air conditioning, steep stairs, clean everywhere, cleaned every day, slippers, towels, gel, shampoo, hair dryer, kettle, cups, tea, coffee in the room. For breakfast, scrambled eggs, sausages, French fries, vegetables, cheese, sausage, olives, salads, oranges, tangerines, milk flakes, tea, coffee. There are a couple of bottles of water in the room upon check-in. One of the disadvantages is that the transfer does not arrive at the hotel, it stops at the bottom, and you have to walk uphill along the paving stones. It's a bit dirty around the hotel, and there are a lot of unkempt places.

Breakfast. The buffet is good for Istanbul.

Location. All tour locations are within easy reach.
The mattresses are soft. Surprisingly, he sleeps well.
Blackout curtains. And they really create darkness. Respect.
Minuses:
The extractor hood in the rooms does not work. Be prepared for dampness in the bathroom.
Very small rooms. It's a common story for the center of Istanbul.
The furniture and plumbing are radically shabby.
There are cracks in the windows - it blows in winter. We bought duct tape at the bazaar and temporarily sealed it up.

We stayed at the hotel in early October
The location is very convenient, tram stop, bazaar, shops, square with the Blue Mosque is a 10-minute walk away. Nearby there are exchangers, cafes and supermarkets

We chose the hotel because of the breakfast, it is really very good, 10 out of 10, very satisfying and varied. Tea, coffee from the vending machine and water could be taken at any time in unlimited quantities

Positive:the location, a good breakfast, friendly staff Cons: the room is on the top floor and the bathroom is only narrow, that someone slightly larger than average simply would not go into the shower, and in order to dry himself with a towel he had to go into the room itself. The hotel urgently needs to change the pillows - these are jellyfish, lumps, or I don't know what else to call them.... The next time is most likely in favor of another place.

Very old renovation, breakfast on the aisle, there is also a reception, there is also a warehouse…They put us in a family room in a neighboring building, and we went across the street for breakfast.
The room has 2 small rooms, 1 double bed and 2 double beds (there is also a sink and a microwave).
The bathroom is very dirty. Mold is everywhere. The faucet in the shower is faulty. There wasn't even a light on at check-in, they asked several times to change it. Hygienic precautions are not given. You need to ask for toilet paper.
The bed has never been changed in 7 days, although they asked for it.…

I want to share my impressions about the hotel and in general about Istanbul and our short stay here. We had a rest in August 2024. The room is decent enough, everything is in it, even slippers are provided, a hairdryer, a kettle, tea, coffee, a set of towels. The room was cleaned every day. Clean , no smells. There was a Smart room in our room (room 103) , in the evenings we watched movies of our choice. Special thanks to the woman who fed us breakfast, very tasty, varied, personal respect , her name is Istella, she is Filipino👍 In general, the staff 👍I advise the hotel, it is within walking distance to the main facilities 💃 Now about Istanbul, the sights are of course cool, worth a look. In general, the city has one big market- a bazaar. It's not cheap. To eat for lunch for 2 people, without frills, about 3,000 lira, it is in the region of 7000 rubles, it is expensive (for example, one second course, a salad for each and a Glass of beer), so prepare the money. There are local supermarkets, prices are like in Russia in principle, but there is nothing ready, only dried milk, fruits and vegetables. In general, it is colorful. Have a nice trip.🇹🇷

The hotel is located in a very convenient location for tourists visiting Istanbul. Within walking distance, 8-10 minutes, Hippodrome Square, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi and many attractions. The tram stop is about 8 minutes, it is convenient to get to any area. The only disadvantage, perhaps for someone, is a slide, but Istanbul practically consists of hills. The room is not big, but very cozy, clean. Cleaning at your request, at least every day, just hang a sign that cleaning is required. Shower accessories, shampoos, gels, and toilet paper are also replenished. There were slippers in the room, which was additionally pleasing. A kettle, coffee, tea, mugs are also at your disposal, they are in the room. There is a refrigerator in the room, although it cools by 2+. We lived on the ground floor, it was not noisy. Separately, I want to write about great breakfasts. The chef of this gastronomic splendor, Silva, cooked us delicious, varied breakfasts every morning, indistinguishable from homemade ones. Every day for breakfast, something new awaited us. The hotel, especially the hotel staff, left a very pleasant impression, very attentive, responsive, respectful to all guests. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who goes on a trip to Istanbul. I will definitely return to this hotel again, as well as to the city itself, which won my heart!

we rested on 19.10.24-26.10.24. I read the reviews, it feels like they write about different hotels, bought the location (for 4) and breakfasts, 7 days omelette, sausages, vegetables, cheese, yogurt.We booked a 2-room family room, we were not immediately settled, we were given 2 rooms, well, sooo small, the fire alarm went off at 2 am, (there was no fire but ...) by the evening we were settled in our room, another building 5 meters from the main one, it has 3 floors, 1 room on each, very narrow and steep stairs, the room is clean (we did not ask for cleaning, they were cleaned 1 time a week) if you do not look under the beds, 2 bedrooms with a worn creaking mattress, the TV did not work, only a window pane in the shower ventilation that did not save from dampness, putty fell from the ceiling. Not all windows have mosquitoes, mosquitoes were fought 2 times a day, morning and evening.
Bottom line: I do not recommend it. My family is not spoiled by luxury, but this is the worst hotel we have lived in.
PS. I almost forgot, you could go out on the roof overlooking the sea, this is the biggest plus in this hotel.

Among the advantages are proximity to historical sites, support for the Russian language, and price. The breakfasts are fresh, everything you need to eat, but monotonous, only salads have changed. The rooms are clean, cleaning according to schedule or on request. Noisy neighbors are not noticed. The Internet is stable and fast. Of the disadvantages, there is little space, both in the hall, which is also a dining room, and in the rooms. There are no hoods, so after a shower all the moisture will be on the windows. The entrance is on the 1st floor. There may be a breeze from the windows.

Then no one will pay attention to your sign. The TV was not working, the receptionist came from the reception, took the flash drive, translated the TV from English to Turkish and left, with the ends. In the toilet, if you press the big flush button, the water pours continuously until you tap both buttons several times.

It was booked in February 2024 for the period from 04/20/2024 to 04/28/2024. The transfer was delivered from the airport on the night of 04/20/2024 to 04/21/2024. At the reception, the receptionist informed that the reservation had been transferred to another hotel. And he put us outside in the middle of the night in the rain. The host party gave away our reservation in favor of tourists from Italy. Our tour operator did not change the reservation for another hotel. The level of hospitality is zero. I do not recommend this hotel.

I do not recommend it! The photos do not correspond to reality! We booked a 4-bed room with access to the garden. But they gave us a room in the basement with a view of the wall and said it was a garden!!! Yes, our mistake was that we counted on the proximity to the sights. But....It takes about 10 minutes to walk down the steep hill from the tram. It is very difficult to walk up to the tram. The hotel is located in the courtyards, no one knows about it. They promised to meet us at the airport, but the price changed every day. Therefore, we got there ourselves. We arrived at the hotel at 16.00. We went down and waited at the counter for 10 minutes while the receptionist went to get bread. He said our room is not ready yet and we have to wait!!! And he sat down to eat with his female employees. After he had lunch, he led us through the building to another house. There we went down to the basement, which he presented to us as a room with a view of the garden. There was no garden, there was a basement. Damp, dirty and not cleaned. The bed was not that dirty, but there was a huge layer of dust. In the photo, you can see the stripes on the sheet. There was a piece of mattress on the couch. The room itself was at ground level. The furniture is old, everything is dirty. We announced the documents that we have a room with a garden and it looks completely different. To which we were told there are no places. And he sat down to eat with his workers again!
We do not recommend this hotel! Don't be fooled by the modest price! It is impossible to live in such conditions! Reviews on other sites are the same from people who book this hotel. There are many hotels in Istanbul that cost the same, but you will not spoil your vacation!!!
The attitude of the staff is disgusting, the location is terrible. Even the Turks themselves, when we asked, shook their heads and said HORROR, don't go there!!!! Do not skimp on your vacation, this hotel deceives its customers and does not want to solve problems!!!

It's close to the center, but that's if you know where it is. Google took us in the other direction at first (but this is most likely not the fault of the hotel, namely the booking site). The staff is helpful and attentive, the breakfast is delicious. They allowed me to leave my things until the evening.
The only thing I didn't like was that the curtains didn't protect me from the lanterns, the room was bright as day and there was one large, but hard as wood bed, it was impossible for me to sleep.
