Catherine Park in Pushkin is an absolute masterpiece of landscape design and imperial history. Spanning over 100 hectares, it offers a breathtaking mix of formal French gardens and picturesque English-style parks. The centerpiece is the stunning Catherine Palace; its vibrant blue, white, and gold facade looks like something straight out of a fairy tale. While strolling through the grounds, I was particularly impressed by several key features: • The Architecture: The Cameron Gallery and the Hermitage Pavilion are architectural gems that showcase the grandeur of the 18th century. • The Great Pond: Walking around the lake provides a sense of peace, with the marble statues and the Turkish Bath pavilion reflecting beautifully in the water. • The Atmosphere: Even on a busy day, the vast paths offer plenty of quiet corners to appreciate the harmony between manicured nature and royal history. Whether you are a history enthusiast or simply looking for a scenic escape from the city, this park is a must-visit destination. It perfectly captures the scale and beauty of the Russian Empire's golden age.

This park is absolutely amazing! Created centuries ago and very well kept today, it is a jewel to enjoy! Plenty of landmarks to see, all having history behind it. Like Orloff gates, one of the entrances to the park, was built as a memory of Grogory Orloff feat, beating the plague riot in Moscow in 1771. It has an inscription mentioning that. Right next to it is a mock ruined Turkish tower, also put by Catherine to celebrate Russian victories beating Turks. Seems like 1771 was a hot year for Russia, with a horrible plague and then riots in Moscow and a glorious victory over Turkish fleet at Chesmen the same year... Beware unofficial guides, I took one and he was cool for the most part, but sorely lacked taking shower. And he made a few mistakes, like claiming that Quarengi was from Portugal, working for Catherine just for that Tzarskoe Selo project. Wrong. But still he knew almost all landmarks good enough to give you correct basic info.
