In Kutaisi, it is impossible to pass by the famous Colchis Fountain on David the Builder Square. It glows all over with gold, glitters in the sun during the day, and in the evening the backlight lights up and looks almost magical. The fountain appeared here in 2011-2012, it was designed by architect David Gogichaishvili. The sculptures around us are not just decorations. These are copies of ancient Colchian artifacts found by archaeologists, many dating back to the Bronze Age. Among the figures there are toastmasters, horses of King Eet, lions, deer, and other animals. Everything is done in such a way that you feel connected with the ancient history of this region. The square itself is lively - there are theaters, cafes nearby, and people are constantly walking. It's not easy to approach the fountain, it stands at a roundabout, cars are driving around, but even from afar it makes a strong impression. For me, it has become a real symbol of Kutaisi and a place where I want to stop and just watch.
