“The surgery process I had in Dünyagöz Altunizade was a complete disappointment. I have been told many times before that the SMILE method will be applied. In fact, one of the hospital employees even mentioned it in his records as a SMILE. However, when I opened a sealed envelope given to me on the day of surgery and checked the documents myself, I found out that LASIK would actually be performed. If I hadn't opened this envelope, I would have thought that SMILE was done even after I had surgery. This situation shows that there is no open and transparent information provided and it is contrary to patient rights. My surgery was performed by another doctor, not the doctor I had seen before, without me being informed in any way. Such a change cannot be made without patient consent, but I was not even asked. Also, although my surgery was scheduled for 16.00, I was kept waiting for 2 hours without any explanation and my surgery was performed at 18.00. When I requested the documents I signed after the surgery and the measurement results, I met with different people from the patient rights unit many times; each time I was told that “it will be sent”, but in the end I was clearly told that my documents would not be given to me. However, it is my legal right to be given the documents I have signed legally. Employees are definitely not solution-oriented. The hospital is not run like a health institution, but officially like a trading house. The rights, information or satisfaction of the patient are not taken into consideration in any way. The Yandex score looks 4.9 here, but this is completely deceptive. The quality of service, let alone a private hospital, is even behind a mediocre public hospital. I have complained to the official authorities about the victimization I have experienced. I leave this comment so that people don't have the problems that I have.”
