"Devils Tower", or "Devil's Tower", or "Devil's Tower" is a natural monument in the valley of the Bell Fourche River in Wyoming, USA. It is a monolith of volcanic origin with a height of 1558 m above sea level and a relative height of 265 m.
The Devil's Tower National Monument is one of the main attractions of the state of Wyoming in the USA. The monolithic basalt mountain with a height of 386 meters seems to be composed of hundreds of stone pentahedral columns. In good weather, the rock can be seen for several tens of kilometers. It was formed 200 million years ago and is a liquid melt frozen in the mouth of an ancient volcano. And the base of the tower, scientists believe, appeared as a result of erosion.
The natural monument got its name because of a linguistic error. In 1875, during the expedition of Colonel Richard Dodge, the translator misinterpreted the words of the Indians who lived in this territory. Instead of the House of the Bear, the mountain became known as the House of the Bad God, and then as the Devil's Tower.

It was a good tree, it's a pity the only thing left of its kind, the rest did not have time to petrify and were erased. Related trees of this species can only be found deep underground in the caves formed.

When it comes to the origin of the Devil's Tower in the USA, the most common comment is "and you dig, if it's a silicon tree, then there must be roots."
They dug it up.
Scientists from the Wyoming State Parks Department made photographic seismic measurements: "We found what looks like a giant root system originating from the base of the Tower of Devils. The root system was measured at a depth of 6.4km and a width of 11.2km. We are currently conducting research and tests to confirm that this is actually a root system and not a coincidence." No wonder the Indians called this mountain the Tree of Life.
