I advise fans of antiquities and flea markets to visit. You can get an idea of the way of life and life of the people in whose territory you are. Of course, an excursion conducted by a knowledgeable person, and not a schoolboy, would be more informative, because the collection was collected by a man who selflessly loves his homeland.Self-examination does not give a complete picture. The cafe on the territory was not impressed, the toilet is in terrible condition, you can only get to the house museum by taxi. It's a pity, this museum needs to be included in sightseeing tours, and not endless wine and honey tastings.

An incredible place. I read about the museum on the Internet, realized that I must definitely come there-and I was not mistaken. When you see it all with your own eyes, you can touch it, touch the story and hear Nana's story-emotions overwhelm. Nana is the owner of the museum, the daughter-in-law of George Hetsuriani, an incredible woman. She joined the family as a 20-year-old girl and this museum was created before her eyes, incredible household items and antiquities were brought to the master from everywhere, and George Hetsuriani himself created his masterpieces. Nana's story was filled with such warmth and love, contained such details and details that you will not read or hear anywhere else. So many exhibits of the museum were made by the master himself, incredible chandeliers, models of the Abkhazian courtyard, coinage,. I was very shocked by the memorial in the courtyard. I was lucky enough to talk to Nana after the tour. A surprisingly bright and kind man. She supports and carefully preserves the museum herself. It is a pity that such an object of cultural heritage has fallen out of the state's field of view. It is necessary to bring children here so that they know and remember the story presented here in such incredible exhibits.
Thank you very much to Nana and prosperity to the museum

We visited the museum and were just shocked by what we saw. I bow low to the creator of the museum and to the people who have preserved and supported it. Each exhibit is very interesting. The story of the master's daughter-in-law touched me to the depths of my soul. So much love and warmth comes from her. I advise everyone to visit the museum and touch the antiquity and history of Abzasia

An amazing house, we were lucky enough to talk with the daughter-in-law of its creator, her name is Nana. An amazing woman, it was she who told us the story of this house, and gave us a tour of it. This house keeps the whole history of one family, the head of which (the father of Nana's husband) created this house with love and bit by bit collected all the exhibits that are presented in this mysterious house today. Nana with such love and soul told us about its inhabitants, about every corner, saw family photos where Nana became a part of this family as a 20-year-old girl. The creator of the house has already passed away, and now Nana considers it her duty to continue his work and preserve this beautiful house... I was so fascinated by this wise, beautiful, statuesque woman, her soulful stories, that at some moments the tears themselves flowed, so imbued. And it is also a pity that such a wonderful creation (the house with its exhibits) is not sponsored by the state, and the family has to preserve this heritage on its own. For myself, I decided for sure that once again, I will definitely visit this house!!!

It was very interesting to learn about the life and traditional occupations of the Abkhazians - agriculture, cattle breeding, hunting, fishing and winemaking.
Among the exhibits:
🧉 Ancient Greek amphorae
🫔 Portable churn driven by a mountain river
🍇 Grape press and container made of a whole linden trunk for collecting grape juice
🐗 A wineskin for transporting wine from a whole boar skin
🛖 Portable hunting lodge
The 1906 horse-drawn Benz phaeton of Prince Alexander Petrovich of Oldenburg, the founder of the Gagra resort
Many thanks to the hosts!

"Fragments of history", such a phrase came to my mind when I entered this amazing "Hetsuriani house museum".
If I were a child, it would seem to me that I got into a real shop of wonders, where there are countless interesting and unusual things. However, all this, painstakingly pieced together, is the legacy of the Caucasian people.
The mistress and keeper, Nani, of a unique soul, a human being. With what love and awe she talks about how it all came together. There is an opportunity to learn literally first-hand how the collection was created. What difficulties were on the way of its formation. You will also find out how beautiful and at the same time, the life of a simple farmer was.
Household and household utensils take you back to the past, where you try to imagine yourself in the place of a winemaker, fisherman or beekeeper. And how much work there is in blacksmithing.
From the bottom of my heart, I would like to wish this house to go through all the temporary storms, preserving its small historical treasures for the present and future generations.
If you are in Pitsunda, be sure to come here! A fabulous house of the real past.
"The collection was collected throughout his life, so that the antiquity would not be irrevocably gone. If you are in Abkhazia, visit this house. A lot can be understood here about the past, about the future, about the world around us and about ourselves" (Nani Hetsuriani)

Thanks to the late organizer of the museum, for not caring about the history of Abkhazia. The current owners of the museum, it seems, do not really understand what to do with it and how to develop it. The state of the surroundings and exhibits is sad. Everything is as usual: we take the money, and then at least the grass does not grow. I recommend you to visit, for those who are not indifferent to history. One of the few places in Abkhazia where there is at least something about the people who inhabit such natural beauty.
