A holy and historical place! The history of the Temple is really amazing and significant for the Orthodox! And realizing that kings and queens prayed in this Temple, these are generally significant events! According to legend, the wooden church of St. Elijah the Prophet was built around 1460 at the behest of King and Grand Duke Casimir IV in memory of the rescue of his wife Elizabeth, who almost drowned. And in 1706, the Russian tsar Peter I prayed in the Temple, granting victory to the Russian army against the Swedes. And the Temple itself disappeared from the face of the earth more than once, and then, precisely by the will of God, it was again, as if by His Invisible Hands, erected on this earth, from ashes for people! The energy in the Temple is divine! Everything is radiant with an invisible divine presence. For centuries it has been a holy place, prayed for and suffered by Fathers and Mothers! In general, Orsha itself, the Orsha clergy, has a very interesting history, as the Orsha monks from the Kuteinsky monastery moved to Valdai during the persecution, and helped build the Iversky monastery on Valdai, taught and developed printing there, and there were many other stories, and considering that Orsha is a hundred years older than Moscow, it got a lot to everyone: to the city, to the inhabitants, to the churches with their fathers, in all the numerous wars and internal strife, in the epicenter of which the city found itself more than once. God grant, for the blessed deeds of the Holy Fathers and prayer books, may there be only peaceful skies over Orsha now and in the future! As for St. Elijah's Church, I recommend everyone to visit here, look back a little in time, think about their lives, deeds, come into contact with distant and bygone history, reflect on the past and the future, and pray by candlelight, feel this invisible presence of piety and move on with life, with God. There is an inexplicable, invisible and intangible energy, purity, forgiveness, help and the presence of the Lord. Good luck to all! AMEN TO THAT!

You enter the temple and find yourself in another world: frescoes, ancient icons. When I was a child, my grandmother took me to Communion. I like to sit in the courtyard of the temple. Cleanliness, tranquility, a place where you can calmly think and reflect..

A very beautiful and picturesque place! Peace and grace! There is a shop with church paraphernalia. If you don't know something, the girl working there will tell you everything. It's a pity there's no photo, you'd fall in love. It's worth visiting there once and you'll want more)
