One of the oldest cathedrals in Abkhazia, located on the outskirts of Sukhum. In its architecture, it resembles St. Sophia Cathedral in Constantinople. It is a very beautiful and bright place. There are many ancient icons and murals, but there are also modern images.They are donated by benefactors and Orthodox Christians, who were helped by prayers offered to God and the Most Holy Theotokos in this temple.
Wise Father Andrew, a priest with a very difficult fate. People with problems and those in difficult life situations turn to him. The priest helps everyone and guides them on the right path. Russian Russian is the language of worship, and hymns are sung in Russian and Abkhaz. All the Sacraments are performed in the cathedral: confession, communion, baptism, and wedding. Prayers for the sick are served . There is a holy source of Nikita Besogon.
Restoration work is underway on the church grounds. Pilgrims and workers stay at the monastery hotel. Through their efforts, the territory is changing for the better. Definitely, I recommend you to visit.
