A good local museum. The palace has been preserved in very good condition. A very nice girl guide told me a lot of interesting things about these places. We didn't even buy tickets, we just donated some money for the museum.

The palace was restored after the fire. You can get inside from 8 to 17 except Sundays. Staff can take a short tour. Interesting. Especially for understanding the history of the region. Definitely necessary to visit when visiting South Ossetia. Nearby there are well-preserved parts of the fortress and the castle in which the restaurant

A gorgeous place, they greeted us like family, treated us to delicious coffee for an interesting conversation, not to mention the excursion, many thanks to the director of the museum.

We visited the palace and were fascinated by the scale of the buildings. It is a pity that little has been preserved from its former splendor. It's nice to see that they are trying to preserve the museum and even restore it a little. I was surprised by the free tour. I think that tourists are able to pay for a visit to such an amazing place

I was at the museum in the summer of 23, a wonderful place, a nice guide, the tour was free, but I left a donation, because I believe that any work should be paid. I recommend you to visit🤍

I have long wanted to visit the palace of my ancestors) This summer I succeeded and they called me nothing but "our princess" there! Just look at these majestic columns, exquisite carvings. And, so much unique beauty was painted over during the Communist rule... Comrade Pavliashvili, a wonderful man and a very enthusiastic guide! When you are there, give him greetings from Princess Tamara from Vladikavkaz!

The castle of the Ksan Eristavs in Akhalgori, also known as the Akhalgori Museum of Local Lore, is a medieval castle, the main residence of the Ksan Eristavs is the main attraction of the town of Akhalgori. Now there is a museum in the palace. On the ground floor there is an exposition of an ordinary museum of local lore: tools, details of local life, costumes, historical maps on the walls. There is an art gallery on the second floor. Local artists of the late 19th century and the entire Soviet period. The most remarkable thing is the palace itself, or rather its long balconies—galleries decorated with wooden carvings

The museum is in a rather neglected state. But the place is very beautiful and pleasant. The former mayor of Leninogorsk, a very friendly and educated man, works as a guide at the museum. He likes to talk, can tell a lot of interesting things about the history and architecture of South Ossetia, although he is a Georgian.

It's a very colorful place. Atypical Persian architecture, beautiful views. The free tour is interesting not so much from an educational point of view, but as an opportunity to communicate with local residents. Inside there is an exposition of a typical local history museum.

It's a great museum, but you can really see it once. And so the guides are very pleasant, they tell us about the history of the palace and its former inhabitants in an interesting way.

I would really like to mention the excellent manager, a very sincere woman. He knows a lot about the history of the Ossetian barrier . I would like to express my great gratitude to her, we arrived when the museum was already closing, but she let us in anyway and personally conducted the tour

A great historical place! I advise tourists to definitely visit! And the authorities and sponsors need to support this unique museum, while there is still something to preserve and pass on to posterity!

We had a tour, liked everything and didn't even take the money, but I'm counting it wrong, they need to develop for something.
