Imagine a place where time slows down. Where you can walk through the mountain villages of Svaneti, cozy courtyards of Kakheti and Megrelian manors in one day. This is an open—air Ethnographic Museum on Turtle Lake in Tbilisi. This is not a collection of exhibits. This is a real living history of the country. Every house transported here is not just a log cabin or a tiled roof. It's a living story. Touch the warm wood of the Svanovo tower and you will hear the sound of axes and the whispers of ancient legends. Take a look into the coolness of the Kakheti marani and you will feel the tart spirit of the wine that was born here. The silence here is special. It is filled with the voices of the past: the sound of a loom, a song by the hearth, the laughter of children in the courtyard. The shadows of those who loved, worked and celebrated within these walls seem to walk along the paved paths. This place is the most honest and beautiful history textbook. It does not tell, but shows what the real, timeless Georgia was and remains. And also... spare no money, rent Georgian outfits and come here with a photographer. There are an incredible number of locations and textures here so that Georgia will remain in your memory forever.

I really liked the museum. Houses and utensils were moved, as well as the surroundings of houses of the 9th-18th centuries from different places in Georgia were recreated. So far, there are not so many restored houses that you can go inside - 5-6. Each one has a guide who tells about the history of these houses and the way of life of the people who lived in them. They are very friendly, they will additionally answer about the subjects of interest and customs, if you did not have enough information told. The only disadvantage is that it is inconvenient to get there, you need to go by car or taxi, or walk along the highway without a sidewalk)
