A memorial sign on the site of the former temple. In 1403, Prince Vytautas founded a church, which was the first Catholic church in the area. In 1587, King Stefan Batory, who chose Grodno as his permanent residence, built a stone building instead of a wooden one. And it was the largest church in the INCL. It was badly damaged. It was repaired with state-owned royal money and transferred to the Orthodox denomination in 1807g. The Soviet government found the best use for it: the warehouse of the fine-grain mill and DOSAAF. In 1961, it was decided to demolish (blow up), allegedly for dilapidation. At the same time, they also took care of using the building materials left over from the explosion - that's how they wrote in their decision: use for road construction and filling.
