The place is interesting and atmospheric, with a tragic history. It is quite convenient to get there both by public transport and by taxi. In the "dead city" itself, you need to be prepared to move up a variety of stairs- the buildings are located on the slopes. There is a place to relax and have a snack in the residential village.

We had a rest in July 2025 in Oludeniz, visited the ghost town of Karakey. We went by ourselves without excursions, by two minibuses with a transfer in Upper Oludeniz. Having previously read the rather sad history of this city. Admission is paid-cash only. We still haven't figured out how much it costs, it's not written anywhere. He told us 285 lire for both of us. Such a strange amount. We didn't argue. The city is very unusual on the mountainside, it is incredible how it was possible to rebuild it all and to live too-rather Spartan conditions. The Lycian trail runs through the city. Da Oludeniza is about 3 hours on foot. It was very hot, so we didn't go. You can wander the streets for a long time, but in a different season. Definitely worth a visit!

Kayaking is another dimension altogether.... You get there and immediately thoughts come about the frailty of life... Although the city was abandoned about 100 years ago - it's not exactly ancient - but still there is a feeling of familiarization with history.
