The center of Russian Andijan was once a real Gostiny Dvor, like somewhere in Kostroma province. And Matsievsky Street (Istiklol) rested against the small church of St. Sergius of Radonezh (1896), which, viewed from the station, formed a single ensemble with that pair of tall houses. Moreover, in the pre-revolutionary photographs, there is exactly the same church in Namangan, down to the smallest details - either they were built according to the same project, or this is some kind of confusion. The Andijan Church survived the earthquake of 1902, but was demolished under the Soviets.
