In September 2025, the monastery is open, but the temple is under restoration and covered in scaffolding, even inside. The place itself is certainly historically significant, and many people come here precisely for a "piece" of this historicity. A place for lovers of Christian antiquity, for the rest there will be an ordinary monastery. I like the fact that it's almost 1,000 years old, it's quite impressive. I think it's worth going here when the restoration of the temple is completed, otherwise the impression remains incomplete. There were a lot of locals on the weekend

The monastery is under reconstruction, it will not be possible to enjoy its architecture and interior, the entire space and facades are covered in scaffolding. There is access to a part of the premises of the church itself, the rest of the buildings can be accessed. You can get from Kutaisi by taxi for GEL 12 in one direction, a taxi is called to the place. There can be many tourists. Be sure to include the Monastery of Saints David and Constantine (Motsameta) in the itinerary. It is located in the same direction and a little closer to Kutaisi. There were a lot of tourists at the time of the visit, the views are beautiful, the church is small on the mountainside.
