The museum is quite expensive, and what's inside it doesn't justify the price. Most pictures are of minor artists that followed some European artistic currents without being noticed. There are very few painting masterpieces, some of the sculptures are somewhat more noteworthy. Probably most of the money are for the building that looks recently renovated. Though I didn't appreciate the entrance to the galleries which resembles going into a cage. Not a great experience.

If you love painting and sculpture, you definitely come here. But get ready, it will take a long time. We were with the children, thanks for the benches in each hall))) There are many paintings, many stories of writing them, they got on a school trip, they themselves were dragged out and began to eavesdrop, especially the involvement of young people was surprised: they ask questions, discuss paintings. A bright impression of the museum remained. One thing is unclear: the exhibition is on the upper floors, the rest are empty, the first impression was that they got into a museum that was not working. We didn't get to the Banksy exhibition, it's a pity. I recommend you to visit.

There is amazing light inside, everything is modernly decorated, including an elevator and a glass staircase. The collection features works by different artists, so everyone can find something to their liking. There is a huge collection of paintings and other works of art here. If you are traveling in Georgia, it is worth visiting the museum at the beginning of your trip. I especially liked the exhibition of works by Banksy and Georgian artists.

I liked the museum. The works are mostly by graduates of the Tbilisi Academy of Arts. The hospitable girl at the entrance showed everything and told me in good English. Sunny sensual Georgian painting leaves a very pleasant impression.

A beautiful modern space. It is well thought out for exposition work. Temporary exhibitions can be interesting, but the permanent exhibition is at the level of street vernissages. A very mediocre collection of the latest Georgian art is exhibited without any concept. It seems that the artists were selected by acquaintance or their hierarchy in the local Union of Artists.

An impressive, beautiful, modern museum.
The museum features works by 20th-century artists, and was lucky enough to get to the Banksy exhibition in January 2024.
Polite and helpful staff, who speak Russian and English.
Pleasant atmosphere, large halls and plenty of space.
There is also a cafe on the ground floor.
An inspiring place to spend the whole day.

The museum is located on Rustaveli Avenue, opposite the parliament building, partly repeating its architectural motifs, in particular, the high arches of the facade. Inside is a typical high-tech, solid glass: stairs, ceilings, elevators. The exhibition mainly features contemporary Georgian artists, some of them in the whole hall. For the first time I saw the original works of Sergei Parajanov, unfortunately, there are only three of them here. And it was surprising that out of the five floors, the museum's exhibits occupy only the top two, perhaps the rest are reserve areas for future expansion of the collection.

The museum is excellent, it is worth visiting to have an idea of Georgian painting. But the store at the museum is sad and sad, the girl at the checkout with a very unfriendly face, there are no prices for half of the goods, it is not entirely clear what is with pricing (a three-dimensional sticker on the phone is 10 GEL), postcards, magnets and all that is priceless, stickers with codes by which they will be punched are also not there

Disappointment!
Large exhibition space, bright, comfortable. Five floors, many halls. Comfortable modern elevators. Nice cafe on the ground floor. However, the exposure is weak. There's nothing to see. There are a couple of corners with works by artists of the Soviet period - the best thing in this museum. There are interesting sculptures. The rest is not worth paying attention to. The gaze does not want to stop at anything. It doesn't smell like painting, it's the capital!
One floor is given over to the Banksy exhibition. Complete trash!
The ticket costs 40 lari/person. I do not recommend it. Don't waste time and money.

The variety of paintings and techniques impressed! There are a lot of halls and paintings. There is sculpture, mixed media. It's just a shame that they didn't find Pirosmani. They say it weighs on the second floor. The exhibition is definitely worth the money.

Прочитав эту статью, я узнала и прочитала о двух интересных музеях в Грузии - Музее современного искусства грузинского художника Зураба Церетели и Доме-музее Акакия Церетели. Поскольку я уже была в Тбилиси, я посетила Дом-музей Акакия Церетели и была впечатлена его уникальной коллекцией исторических предметов. В музее я узнала много интересного о жизни и творчестве Акакия Церетели, а также о грузинской культуре и истории в целом. Сейчас я также настолько заинтересована посетить Музей современного искусства грузинского художника Зураба Церетели, чтобы увидеть его работы и узнать больше о современном грузинском искусстве. Большое спасибо самому большому справочнику-каталогу о Грузии Мадлоба madloba.info за то, что я могу получать информацию о таких культурных исторических местах!

I'm not thrilled. Two small floors for the price of 40 lari. Half of the floor was occupied by the Pirosmani exhibition and there are a couple of Kandinsky paintings - and thanks for that. The cashier spoke neither Russian nor English.

The museum is very interesting with its architectural solution, although the glass steps and platforms are somehow confusing. The presented paintings by contemporary artists of Georgia were very impressive .

I recommend it to lovers of modern painting. Set aside ~ 2 hours for a visit if you like to look at paintings without running a marathon between them. The museum has a good informative website, you can get acquainted with the collections before visiting.

Прекраснейший музей наполненный красивыми картинами и арт объектами. Стоимость 18 лари.
Три этажа с множеством залов, в каждом выставки грузинских художников от 1950 гг и до наших дней.
Получила огромное удовольствие от времени проведённом там👍🏻
Кстати вся лестница из прозрачного стекла, так что эмоции начинаются ещё со входа.

The viewing starts from the 5th floor, part of it was closed for the Benxi exhibition, so I looked only at the 4th and 5th floors, where famous Georgian artists of the XX century are exhibited.
There is no audio guide, the ticket is 18 GEL.

Масса впечатлений, но картин очень много. К концу осмотра сильно устали. Лучше пройти в несколько заходов. Внутри здание прозрачное, стеклянные ступени, необычно и страшновато. Грузинские художники поразили мастерством и фантазией.
