Very interesting historical place. We have visited interactive new museum.

A unique historical place. It is necessary to take a guide who will tell you about the life of our ancestors and their way of life. The museum is modern, small, the area of the stone park where you can walk is also small, but with a guide the tour turns into an exciting adventure! The souvenirs in the museum are beautiful, but everything is very expensive, we didn't buy anything for ourselves :(In general, very positive emotions remained from visiting this place, I recommend it!

Mountains are always beautiful, and mountains with a history are doubly so! Our Neolithic ancestors settled here on the rocks scattered by earthquakes. In their spare time, they hollowed out drawings on the stones. There are also domestic animals, buffaloes, even dogs, and wild deer, wolves, wild boars. Pregnant women, hunters, shamans, dancing men... What they just did not depict.
And what gorgeous views open from these mountains, that's something. You can see the prison below, our guide said it was for "lifers".
I can say with confidence that it is necessary to go here, an interesting place.

You can touch the ancient history here. Rock carvings, ancient human sites, an interesting exposition in the museum. Admission is 19 manats (August 24). It is better not to go with the group - it is long and tedious. We rented a car, drove around the whole area within 50 km from Baku in a day. We spent an hour and a half on this landmark. It would have been much longer with the band.
There are also a lot of Chinese tourists in large groups.
It's worth a visit, but not wow).

An amazing place! In the middle of the desert there are huge rocks, rocks, crevices. The ancient drawings are very impressive. Such an important and accessible historical place. I really liked it, especially with a guide.

The place is interesting for both adults and children. Everything is in the open air, so it's better to go in good weather. There are many petroglyphs, they are clearly visible. There is a cafe, delicious tortillas are made right there. The museum is small. Not far from the museum there is a fenced inscription left by a Roman legionary. On the way here or on the way back, you can immediately stop at the mud volcanoes, they are very close. The child liked them more.

The place is of course unique and is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. but the tour itself is incredibly boring. The park is very small, you can not climb the cliffs. They will show literally 4-5 drawings. There is a micro-museum on site. But because of the huge number of groups, people crowd the veutri, and the guides shout over each other.
It's not worth your money and time at all

An interesting place considering that ancient rock carvings are really represented there. It is not surprising that the museum consists of 2 parts. The main thing is at the bottom, where you buy tickets, and the drawings themselves are at the top on the rocks, you need to go. 30 minutes on foot. But there is no transfer.

An amazing place, about 60 km from Baku. Many drawings of ancient people can be seen on the rocks of the Gobustan Reserve. These are images of people, animals (wild goats, gazelles, horses), birds. The petroglyphs are impressive. And what are the views of the valley and the Caspian Sea. Do not miss the musical instrument of ancient people - gavaldash, if you tap on this flat stone with small stones, you can extract different sounds. Interesting and informative. One of the mandatory places when traveling in hospitable Azerbaijan.

Ancient petroglyphs, a UNESCO monument, are a pleasure to visit for lovers of antiquity! The open-air exposition itself is small, taking your time, you can explore everything in about half an hour, but you need to take a guide who would show you exactly where the images are. You may not notice everything on your own. I definitely recommend it!

This place is worth a visit, but there are a lot of people. I do not advise spending a lot of time on the museum itself in the building, you can run quickly and immediately go to the park.
The cost is 10 manats per person, and also if you need a guide, then the guide costs 10 manats.
The guide needs to be taken to the reserve in his car.
There is also a souvenir shop in the museum, we bought a plate and a magnet for friends there as a gift, the prices for souvenirs are normal, it even seems cheaper to us than in Baku.

The place is very beautiful! But it is worth considering that tourism is not particularly developed here. We decided to take a taxi to the park. It turns out that taxis are not particularly allowed inside because of the prison nearby. Therefore, I advise you to find a taxi driver in advance who will take you to the reserve and then take you back.

Be sure to visit. A large number of ancient drawings embossed on the stones. The place is unique, beautiful, informative. A taxi from Baku is about 10 manats, but it will not work to get back using uber, the reserve is out of the coverage area (not exactly).

The cosmic scale of the "edge of ravines" (as Gobustan is translated) and the grandeur of the mountain landscape – with an excellent panorama of the Caspian Sea – shocked the imagination. It is no coincidence that the Gobustan Reserve as a cultural landscape was included in the list of monuments of World Cultural Heritage about 15 years ago: this is an amazing place with a special energy. Some tourists are skeptical about the news that the rock carvings were created in the period from the Mesolithic to the Middle Ages – so clear are the scratched or hollowed-out images. But the guide explained that earlier researchers used tooth powder to make the silhouettes appear more clearly, here are some of the petroglyphs and look like a new model. Among the drawings there are scenes of hunting, ritual dances, various animals (cows, goats, wild boar with a dog jumping on him from behind), solar signs, slender warriors and portly women, floating boats... Gavaldash – a stone-tambourine – and open round wells for collecting rainwater and blood of sacrificial (or hunted) animals are interesting. A very unusual open-air art gallery. Birds, large lizards and signs warning of the presence of snakes were seen from the living creatures. The complex of buildings visible in the valley turned out to be a prison for especially dangerous criminals. The UNESCO Commission demanded that it be closed, as the guide said. But even prison didn't spoil the cool landscape. We enjoyed the trip immensely. I highly recommend it!

The place itself is very interesting, petroglyphs inscribed on the rocks. The only thing you still start to worry is that suddenly it's not antiquities, I made our contemporaries to attract tourists. I read in various sources where it was confirmed that research has been going on for a long time. You have to come here with a guide.

It's worth going, even if you're not a fan of the prehistoric. Be sure to take a hat, even if it's cloudy. The territory where tourists are allowed costs 30-40 minutes at a leisurely pace, but there are very few such places in the world, and there will be a lot of impressions. Plus, from here you can go to mud volcanoes - it's also worth it.

Gobustan National Architectural and Art Reserve is located at a distance of up to 65 km from Baku. This place is known all over the world for its Paleolithic rock carvings (petroglyphs). The ancient people of the Stone Age left their drawings on the rocks of Gobustan. It is definitely recommended to visit. I'm waiting on my excursions

The top of the mountain is cut off as if with a razor. It seems that the battle of the Atlanteans took place here, and on the ruins of the mountain 20,000 years ago, ancient people found their refuge, leaving a large number of artifacts. The place is a must-visit, just choose the guides carefully, otherwise you will spoil the impression.
