The fortress of Yedikule is still partially under restoration. However, it is already possible to enter 3 towers. One of them has a climb to the top. There are wonderful views of the sea and Istanbul from there. The entrance to the fortress on April 5, 2025 costs 250 Turkish lira. Payment at the entrance. Instead of a ticket, they give you a fortress card. It is difficult to photograph the Golden gate itself. There are restoration stands on the inside, and on the outside, at the level of the middle of the gate, a huge piece of either foam or foam, painted in a dark color, was hung on cables. It is not clear for what purpose this was done. But definitely, it was worth going to the fortress.

The ancient main entrance to the city. They say that the Russian Prince Oleg brought his shield to this gate. The Turks themselves doubt this, but the gate opening was laid with a stone just in case. The place is interesting, now it is also being restored, but they don't take tours there, you need to get there yourself. There are vegetable gardens outside under the wall and if you climb the private towers, you get into the natural Middle Ages.

The golden gate of the fortress walls of Constantinople was once the main entrance to the center - the emperor and his entourage and important guests rode through it. At the same time, they were also a triumphal arch – Emperor Constantine laid it in honor of the victory over Licinius and the restoration of his sole power in the Roman Empire. The Golden Gate in Istanbul got its name based on the example of the gate in Jerusalem. And they themselves became a model for the Golden Gates in Kiev and Vladimir. In addition, they are mentioned by Pushkin – in the "Song of Prophetic Oleg" the Russian prince hung his shield on these gates, as a sign of victory over Byzantium and the conclusion of a trade agreement. www.konstantinopoltur.com
