A very pleasant place with a small well-kept park, beautiful views of the river and the cliffs. We were in the green zone in the fortress itself. We looked at two towers and a palace. I would like to see more, but the rest of the zones are closed in November. The visit time is about an hour. I am very impressed by the beautiful views, guns, armor, household items

Beautifully restored. Tickets are expensive because there is a small exhibition in the towers. Be sure to visit. But avoid the holidays, there are a lot of people, parking is not enough.

A cool and interesting attraction, located in a more than picturesque place. Unfortunately, I got to a day when it was possible to take only the shortest route inside. There is a lot of history from different times of the object's existence.
The location of the fortress deserves special attention, because, in fact, the Iron Gate is a geological and geomorphological monument of nature. For a simple person, the phrase is enough: "Not only is the castle cool there, but the river is beautiful."
There are eco-trails near the castle, although they are in an unkempt condition.
From the fortress itself, there are wonderful views of the archaeological park located at the base. A little further away there is an abandoned quarry. Fascinating views of the Danube and Romania.
You can safely plan a day trip here. If you come to Golubac and plan to walk, there are no sidewalks and you will have to walk along the roadway.

Excellent location for photos, different routes for fans of extreme walks (if special shoes and accessories are available. ticket). You can take a picture with an owl and an eagle as in the Middle Ages.

A great place, a beautiful fortress, beautiful views. We bought tickets to the green zone, which includes a visit to the two towers and the palace. It seems that this is not enough, but it was enough for us.
You can't come in with your food, but we thought we'd have sandwiches on a bench by the Danube.
There are warning signs everywhere about the danger of venomous snakes, which was a little annoying, but it became clear why you can't enter with food and why they make sure that no one goes into the grass.

A beautiful and picturesque place. The fortress and the landscape are like in a fairy tale.
Cons: there is no direct transport from the Golubac bus station to the fortress itself. Why you have to walk almost 4 km along the highway, it's dangerous. And the second disadvantage is that only the green zone works.
But in general, the place is good.

A beautiful place! I highly recommend you to visit. There are three types of trails - green, red and black. I read in the reviews that the black track is highly recommended for passage. But unfortunately it is only open on Mondays and Fridays (that's what the guide said). We had a green one - only for the towers. They also turned on a film about the fortress for 7 minutes with Russian subtitles.

A very beautiful place in Serbia, one of my favorites. The fortress has been renovated, now you can walk around it and enjoy the views of the Danube! If there is time and opportunity, then it is worth a ride along the narrow winding path along the gorge to the sculpture of Tsar Decebalus, this is a stone face, 40 meters high, on the opposite side, but it is about 1.5 hours drive from the fortress!

After the restoration, the view is very good. Well-groomed, museumified). Then the most interesting thing begins. The "green" corridor is a pair of towers at the bottom, exhibitions. The "red" corridor is closed. The "blue" corridor is the middle part of the fortress. In places, you need to climb over rocks. Check the sole of the shoe. With a bald tread, they may not let you in. The views from there are amazing. The "black" corridor is the very top, here only the appropriate shoes are needed, and mostly climbing. Go only with an escort. We didn't go to the black one, the shoes are not the same. The price tag increases depending on the number of corridors visited. If you want beauty and drive, take the appropriate clothes and shoes

A gorgeous and ancient fortress. It has been standing here since the 14th century and is in the top tourist destinations in Serbia.
The fortress was abandoned for a long time, but now it has been restored, a beautiful park has been laid out in front of it, parking has been organized and improved in every possible way.
In the fortress itself, in addition to the museum in the tower and the palace, there are 4 routes of varying difficulty. In winter, they are allowed only on the "green" - just organized paths and stairs. On the more difficult ones, you will have to climb over the rocks holding only by a stretched cable.
A must-visit.

Very beautiful. Beyond the Danube is Romania. But it's sooo windy. We need a straight jacket with a hood and a weighting so that it doesn't blow away. There are different routes around the fortress, respectively, at different costs. Children are free. Be careful.
