You get inspired by the history of this place, strangely, but you get a sense of strength and tranquility, and the photos turn out to be very colorful. At the time of my visit, a wedding was being photographed, a charming bride against the background of walls and bright green grass, this is an amazing contrast. You can climb the walls by stairs and see the sights from above, in the middle of the exposition there is a museum of artifacts with an imitation of the camp. Along the walls, neat paths and an alley of fragrant roses, the combination of the tenderness of these flowers and the harsh centuries-old stone leave a unique impression of visiting the monument to the history of Georgia.

Gonio Fortress is one of the most ancient and well—preserved fortresses in Georgia, located 15 km from Batumi. Tourists highly appreciate the historical value of the fortress, the wealth of archaeological finds and the atmosphere of antiquity that is felt when visiting. There is a museum with exhibits from the Roman era, preserved ancient fortress walls and towers. The entrance fee is inexpensive (about GEL 3-10), the territory is well maintained, there are paths and greenery. Some visitors note that the fortress is interesting for lovers of history and archeology, although part of the square seems to be empty, and the object is more impressive to trained tourists with imagination. In general, Gonio Fortress is a great place for fans of ancient structures and the history of the region.

We took a taxi from Batumi (there and back) to see the fortress. Majestic. The walls, the towers, everything is inspired by the centuries-old past. There is a museum on site. Archaeological excavations are underway. There are benches for sitting and relaxing. There is a place at the entrance to the fortress where you can drink cold water. A modern path has already been built in the middle, which is decorated with kiwi trees growing along the edges. Entrance is paid. We stayed in the fortress for a little over an hour. We were in the afternoon. Very hot. I think it's better to visit in the evening.
