2-3 km from the parking lot to the fortresses and churches, beautiful, old, view from a great height to the canyon, along a good road trail. There is also a circular hiking route for 3-4 hours (10km) through the ruins and along the bottom of the canyon. The canyon is shaded and cool. Take good shoes for trekking.
