It's a very beautiful castle. When you are near, you look very much like a butterfly that has spread its wings. Gradek Castle near Nehanits is located on a hill near the village of Gradek, 100 km from Prague. In 2001, the castle was declared a heritage of Czech culture. Gradek near Nehanits was built in the Gothic style as a summer and hunting residence of the Garrekh family, one of the famous families of the Czech Republic. Representatives of the Harrachs in the 16th and 19th centuries held high positions at the court in Vienna, at the imperial court of the Habsburgs. The construction of the castle began in 1839 and was completed only in 1857. The castle was built by order of Frantisek Arnosht, who was strongly impressed by English architecture. The project of Gradek at Nehanitz was created by the English architect Edward Buckton Lamb, the construction was carried out by the Viennese architect Karl Fischer.
