A beautiful place, a functioning mosque, characterized by the fact that there are no familiar minarets, as it used to be a cathedral. We were on our own, so we read the story in open sources. There is a wonderful coffee shop and souvenir shop nearby. If it wasn't for the time limit, we would have gone inside to take a look.

Level 11 Local Expert

This is an incredible and extraordinarily beautiful temple, converted into a mosque. Most of the frescoes and Christian paintings have not been preserved, but the grandeur of the building is amazing.

The Hagia Sophia Mosque in Trabzon undoubtedly deserves attention. At least with its history and preserved Christian frescoes. It's a beautiful place, a small interesting museum, and a very nice park. There is a lot of information about this mosque on the Internet, but if you are in Trabzon, you must visit it.
