You should definitely visit here when traveling to Helsinki. The cathedral was built in St. Isaac's footsteps in St. Petersburg. Although the cathedral is Protestant, it is richly decorated with sculptures. It's quiet and beautiful inside

Finland's main Protestant cathedral is located in the heart of Helsinki on Senate Square. Beautiful proportions, an extraordinary atmosphere inside.

The cathedral is the most famous architectural landmark in Finland. It was built simultaneously with St. Isaac's Cathedral in St. Petersburg

Lutheran Cathedral. It was built by Russians during the Russian Empire. One of the symbols of Helsinki. The interior is as austere as possible.

Lush Russian neoclassicism on the outside and modest Lutheran decoration on the inside. The Russian Empire certainly could not leave the Grand Duchy of Finland without a cathedral corresponding to the status of the imperial province. The name Nikolsky obviously did not catch on. An attempt, taking into account the relief, financing and size, to repeat the approach implemented in St. Petersburg in the form of Senate Square and St. Isaac's Cathedral can be considered successful, although of course Alexander II is not Peter I, greatness is clearly lacking...

A monumental building, very beautiful from afar, quite a photogenic place on the stairs up close. There are always a lot of people, tourists, and young people. In summer, students have lunch on the steps.

A remarkable and beautiful archetectural structure, behind which you can see what is being watched. There are no cracks or peeling paint, I also did not notice dirt and dust anywhere.
