You should definitely visit here when traveling to Helsinki. The cathedral was built in St. Isaac's footsteps in St. Petersburg. Although the cathedral is Protestant, it is richly decorated with sculptures. It's quiet and beautiful inside

The Russian Empire certainly could not leave the Grand Duchy of Finland without a cathedral corresponding to the status of the imperial province. The name Nikolsky obviously did not catch on.
