I stayed at Hostel Arbat, and it was an amazing place. It’s quiet, close to the city centre, with comfortable beds and clean washrooms. In the evening, the owner also had a nice conversation with me. He doesn’t speak much English, but he was very friendly. I recommend this place for solo travellers because the price is good. You can check in at any time, but it’s better to arrive before 11 PM.

We stayed at this hostel in Shymkent with our sports team and were very satisfied! Excellent budget accommodation for athletes, everything is clean, cozy and thoughtful for groups. There are sports complexes nearby, and the city center is just around the corner. We have organized meals for the team — the food is delicious and suitable even for those who are on the right diet. A shuttle service to the competition venue was also available, which is very convenient. I would like to mention the friendly hosts separately — they were always in touch, helped with any questions. If you are looking for an inexpensive hostel for sports groups or schoolchildren in Shymkent, then this is a great option. We will definitely stop here again for the next competitions!
