The Issyk Nature Reserve is located in the Almaty region, in the city of Issyk, and is one of the most significant archaeological sites in Kazakhstan. Here you can see and explore many mounds that contain ancient artifacts and valuable finds.
The story of the "golden man" is one of the most exciting and famous stories related to Issyk. In 1969, a unique burial cave was discovered in one of the mounds, where a well-preserved burial complex was found. The body of a buried man, decorated with gold ornaments, was found inside the cave. This burial complex and its find are called the "golden man". It is considered one of the most significant archaeological discoveries in Kazakhstan and still delights researchers and visitors.
We were told a story about the life of people in the city of Issyk. For many centuries, Issyk has been an important center of trade and culture in this region. Its position on the ancient Silk Road made it an important exchange point for cultures and goods. People here were engaged in crafts and agriculture.

A very peculiar museum. The complex includes a building (2 floors) and an outdoor area (with mounds) . It's better to arrive early. And not on weekends, otherwise you can meet crowds of children (apparently, something similar to our "School day at the museum)

A small archaeological museum next to the mounds where one of the Golden Men was excavated.
There are about 7 small halls. There are unique original items, but many copies.
If you have already been to the city museum or the Republican Museum in Almaty, then you will not find anything new here.
But if you find yourself nearby, then the museum is worthy of 1 hour of your time.
Be sure to take a tour, it is very informative and competent.

The best thing about this place is a beautiful plateau with mounds.
The museum itself leaves much to be desired.
Mostly copies of found objects. The Golden Man found in these places is also a copy.
At the entrance, they asked for 300 tenge per ticket, but there is no card payment, Kaspi and even no transfer. On the other hand, it makes no sense here — there is no Internet connection anyway.

A good museum-reserve! Interesting historical objects and an excellent guide. There are a lot of Saka household items on display in the original from the 3rd-5th century BC. You can walk to the mounds. In general, I recommend it.

It's interesting to drive a car, it's very beautiful. In the season, apparently, there is something to do besides exploring the surroundings - horseback riding, fishing, etc. One of the disadvantages is that you need to walk to a lot of attractions along a dubious quality road, to some for several hours, respectively, if you arrived there for one day, then they are really closed to you.
