Istanbul Railway Museum is a fascinating place for anyone interested in the history of transport and engineering achievements of Turkey. The museum is located in the Sirkeci district, not far from the famous train station, which was once the terminus of the legendary Orient Express The museum is not very large, so if you expect the scale of European railway museums, it may seem modest. Some exhibits require restoration, but this adds authenticity to them. It is better to visit on weekdays, as there may be more visitors on weekends. And it's worth noting that admission is free!

Firstly, it is free, secondly, it is located in the station building where the Orient express arrived, and thirdly, there are many interesting things for an inquisitive mind, although the museum itself is not at all large. If you just go in to take a look, then five minutes will be enough, and if you delve into it, scan QR codes, read interesting facts, then you can get carried away for a long time. But this is if you speak English or Turkish.

A tiny free museum with almost no people! I'm thrilled! You can view the exhibits endlessly. Everything is in Turkish and English, prepare a translator :)It is located at the terminus of the very Orient Express from the novel by Agatha Christie.

It's a small room, interesting exhibits, and Istanbul seals are very cute instead of guards.

There is only one steam locomotive from the museum behind the fence, nothing else, no exposition, and there is nothing inside the station either

Free micro-museum. It's a sin to be at Sirkeci train station and not go in. A pleasant place, it is clear that it was made with love, most likely by some enthusiasts from the Turkish Railways.

It's so cool to touch history through artifacts. The station has preserved its historical appearance, an atmospheric place

The entire museum is a room of 50 m2. There are all kinds of signs, pens, flashlights. A set of doctor's tools, a route diagram. Pretty boring. The good thing is that it's free

Well, it's a sooo small museum))) one room. Guard. They speak Turkish. An album with live photos, some of which have already been stolen, it's a pity. In general, almost all photos are originals... The exhibits are also original, of course. Interesting! Admission is free))

The Ecdat artifact is a wonderful and fascinating place, and the train station is a place that needs to be seen to travel back in time

Someday I will take the Istanbul - Berlin route - I dreamed and okay))) And there will be happiness. Chic Oriental modernism with a mixture of Ottoman architecture. To visit - with love! A wonderful rest right at the train station and no security at the entrance - hello to the Kursk railway station!

The museum is small, there is only one hall. Is free. The day off is Monday. It's easy to find him. From the entrance to the train station, to the left next to the ticket offices.

A very nice little museum. Some of the exhibits can be touched. For children, the train cabin is where you can turn knobs and toggle switches.
