The village of Radun was once a prosperous Jewish town. During the Second World War, the Jewish community was destroyed. It is reminiscent of the building of the Radun Yeshiva, a religious school from which many famous rabbis came. Its founder was the famous law teacher and religious writer Hafetz-Chaim, who for many years was the spiritual leader of the Jews who lived in the territory of the Russian Empire, and then Poland. Hafetz Chaim is revered by Jews all over the world as a saint, and his grave, located in the local cemetery, serves as a place of pilgrimage.
