Yerevan Municipality should have at least one or two workers there to collect the garbage and care for the trees and grass somehow.
The park is fantastic, but the attitude towards it is miserable(

I have been living in Yerevan for almost 2.5 years, I often go for a walk to the Jrvezhsky Forest Park and I am happy to invite friends for a walk, and for the first time I have encountered a rather strange situation.
30.08.2024 once again we came for a walk to the reserve with a friend.
Local dogs immediately ran up to us at the main entrance, and a friend took out a film camera to capture them.
Literally a couple of minutes later, a guard ran into us - he asked if we had arrived by taxi (I didn't understand what the difference was) and began to demand 10,000 AMD for a "photo shoot" or leave a rather expensive device in his booth. He reacted aggressively to the suggestion to simply put the camera in a backpack and not use it and threatened to call the police. In order not to spoil the walk, we agreed, went to the terminal and paid (I saved the receipt).
I was a little surprised - we had been to the park with a camera more than once, many times without a camera, no one had ever checked our backpacks; and, frankly, we were not aware of such a restriction at all.
I do not mind: photographing in the reserve may be paid, but I do not understand the logic and do not consider it complete, please understand and give an answer.
1. If photographing in a forest park is paid, why only with a camera? All modern phones are equipped with good or even excellent cameras, but there is no charge for the phone.
2. If photographing in the forest park is paid, then why don't they check backpacks and bags at the entrance? If there is a rule, it should work for everyone, not randomly. We paid, in fact, only because a friend took out a camera right at the entrance, if we had walked 50 meters from the security post, no one would ever have known that we even had a camera - the forest park is huge and no one follows us around to check the use of the camera; and this is unfair - if the rule If it works selectively and randomly, then this is not the rule.
3. The reserve is huge and you can enter it from several sides. It turns out that only those who pass through the security post and personally show the camera to the guard pay for the photo?

My favorite place in Yerevan is Very nice to see how the park has already changed in 2 years: trash cans have appeared, flowers have been planted in front of the parking lot, bridges have been built across streams near the lake. And this winter they even made Christmas decorations. 😍
I love this park, and I periodically take gloves and a bag with me to collect garbage, but in the last year it has become noticeably cleaner, and this is very encouraging!

An interesting, quiet, deserted place to walk with a variety of pockets of the landscape. And the forest, and the slender alleys, and the pond, and the sepia-colored hills from the sun-scorched vegetation. From the top of one of the hills there is a beautiful view of Ararat, Aragats, Mount Ara and Yerevan. It is clear that the park is being cared for, but no financial investments are being made in it globally. There are abandoned Soviet-era buildings, also almost like historical ruins.

There is practically no navigation, but, in fact, there is about one circular route through the park.
It is pleasant to walk, especially in the golden autumn. In good weather, the valley and Ararat can be clearly seen from the far side of the park.
Be careful and do not take out your camera in full view of the guards: they may charge you 10,000 drams for "professional shooting"

The park is, of course, quite abandoned, although there is a guard at the entrance and a couple of urns. But the paths are walking, but the assessment is mainly for nature: the views are very picturesque, there is both a forest and a steppe with hills, for every taste. You can also ride a bike or do a little hiking, climbing a couple of hills for a more beautiful view of the city and nature.

The view park is abandoned, the former Soviet scale is visible with terraces, waterfalls that do not work.. There are two high points worth climbing to see the valley, Ararat and sunset. There is snow in winter, we saw a cross-country ski run. It's a beautiful place. I wish the park monetary investments and prosperity, it's a pity if it goes into decline..

This place is beautiful at any time of the year. In winter, when there are no snowflakes in Yerevan, you can go with the children to Voronezh, 20 minutes by taxi and here's winter for you! With snowballs and sleds. Yesterday we went to enjoy the golden autumn. In summer it is cooler here than in the city, which is also wonderful! And always a magnificent view of the valley and Ararat (if you're lucky). I recommend it from the bottom of my heart!

This is a unique place near Yerevan, there is definitely no better park, as if you are plunging into another world, the forest, pines, aspens, the views are simply fascinating. There is a good road around the mountain, you can climb two peaks. With a quick step and a visit to two peaks, a 1.5-hour walk with magnificent views is provided for you. Or you can take a short route along the asphalt path in 45 minutes to turn around. I highly recommend it to those who love parks!

Enjoy nature, admire the views, breathe deeply - this is the right place. The park was once clearly well-maintained: tall cypresses, poplars, groves of fruit-bearing trees indicate this. Probably, everything was different here in Soviet times. Now there is peace, quiet and untouched nature. Everything is overgrown, but this gives the place its own identity.
The scale of the park is impressive! There is a main entrance, but a tourist check-in with recreation areas is also attractive (not super comfort, but rather a wild vacation). Having a rest with a company is the best thing!

The park is beautiful, BUT an inadequate man walks around the park with a baton, saying that he is the head of security!!! and he does not give the opportunity to take a quiet walk, threatens, swears, says that he is calling the police squad! The mood and the walk are ruined! We recommend you to be very careful, as it may attack and it is not clear what to do! When we returned to the entrance, we talked with the guard, he said that he did not know this person, and moreover there was no head of security in the park. There are 3 guards (two elderly, 1 young), but they sit at the entrance and do not walk around the park! Maybe it's a worker, which is even more dangerous! Young girls, be very careful!

A large poorly maintained area without the slightest hints of infrastructure. Wild paths, muddy water in a pond with mind-blowing frogs, rare (one on the way!) urns. But there are few people, a lot of flowering bushes and trees, stunning views from the mountain and cooler air than in the city.
There is a regular bus every half hour.

It's a nice park. Not, of course, what is presented, for example, to Muscovites under the phrase "a good park". There are absolutely no monetary investments here, the value of this place lies solely in its location, landscape, viewpoints, peaceful beauty and silence.
I was here with my husband in early spring and now I'm back at the end of May with my children and friends. It was a very pleasant walk! Unity with nature, uncomplicated routes with flowering from all sides. Children from 5 to 10 years old appreciated this adventure.
Take water, sandwiches, fruits and feel free to come on a mini-hiking trip to this park.

A large, well-maintained and beautiful forest park. There aren't many people. The nature is magical, the trees are diverse - there are coniferous, poplar alleys, and fruit trees that bloom in spring.
A great place to walk your dog -- there are plenty of places to run around without disturbing anyone.
It's colder than in Yerevan, especially on a windy slope with a view -- dress warmer!

An abandoned park from the time, probably, of the Soviets. So it seemed from playgrounds and other buildings, it seems, of that era. It is very large, multi-level and with various strange and mysterious structures: all sorts of channels and pools. We came across an abandoned cultural center or something. The pools are dry or half-drained in summer.
From this park there is one of the most beautiful views of the mountains, the city with lights (on the other side) and a very beautiful sunset without any cranes on the background.
But the main thing is the trees! There are many tall coniferous trees, there are birch trees.. That's probably why there are mostly Russians in the park. There are not many people and they do not interfere. You can wander for a long time. Some overgrown aviaries were found in the park. A dog was barking from one of them. I don't know what it was, but they were afraid to come up. I really hope she's not locked in there. The watchman doesn't know anything.
There is a lake, we will get to it next time. I recommend it for picnics, long walks, including romantic ones. It helps to reduce longing for Russia. And in general, a place where you can climb and explore as a child... We met beautiful flowers)

We visited the park in May. At first, walking up an asphalt road in the middle of the forest is quite boring. We knew that the road was in a circle, so we moved on. But when we reached the cliff and the beautiful view of the valley, we immediately cheered up. The beauty is indescribable! And then the road went along this valley. Wonderful views!

"Reservoir complex" is written on the entrance in Armenian. There is no water there, but there are many abandoned pools and water channels, rusty pipes and fountains everywhere. The place is mystical and interesting.
There are abandoned pools on the hilltops. For example, at the top of Khachisar. From there, there is the best view of Ararat.
As a park, it's a great place. Dense forest, there is a place with coniferous trees.
The name of the park translates as waterfall. No one can tell you anything about the park, there is nothing at all about the buildings on the Internet and there are no old photos to see what these monolithic glass pieces of glass on the Khachisar pool were for. The taxi driver said that he hails from this area, but never knew about this park and did not even think about why the place was named "waterfall" and does not know if there is a waterfall there at all.
I immediately wanted to learn more about these buildings and water reservoirs, to see how it was in its original well-groomed form.
