The biggest Buddha in Sri Lanka. The restoration was completed and the Buddha was painted gold.Interesting frescoes can be seen on the walls of the bridge to the monastery, and in the Temple itself you can see a beautiful painting of the Buddha's teachings. There is a beautiful elephant Kumarika at the temple, which you can feed with bananas or take part in its bathing.

Hello everyone! We went on a short excursion to Bentota along the mangroves of the river. First, we visited the Large Buddhist temple complex "Kande Vihara", in the Alutgama district, Sri Lanka. At the bottom in front of the steps, we took off our shoes. I didn't count the steps. At the top we were greeted by a Golden Buddha 25 meters high, it is new. It's impressive. There is an archaeological site nearby. Before entering, we were treated to fruit, apparently for well-being. We went inside, you can't take pictures of the frescoes on the walls, but you can do the rest. They used to believe in many Gods, but now they believe in one. On the right is God, and on the left is the new-the future God. That's what I realized.
