What a great happiness for all mankind that such historical sites have been preserved. It's just amazing. Tears flow like a river from the delight and grandeur of the place you are in, to the point of trembling
The guide told the legend of how a scarab beetle can make a wish, and we followed the legend like children)
The realization of how many thousands of years the temple is
The Nile stood in the temple itself several times, and traces of standing water remained on the walls of the temple
Just imagine
It's definitely worth it to come here at least once and take a walk, even for a short tour

Visited on a sightseeing tour in March 2024. The weather was the most pleasant - there was no heat. There are a lot of tourists, the interesting story of the guide was almost unheard next to him. It is also extremely difficult to take a photo without other tourists. It looks more majestic in films and advertisements. But considering that all these buildings were without construction equipment and survived to our times, they were well built. Interesting. I've wanted to visit these places since I was at school. In general, I am satisfied.

The greatest ancient temple complex! A place of concentration of sacred secrets. Touching the ancient stone walls with hieroglyphs is priceless. An indelible impression of visiting the sanctuary of the goddess Sekhmet - spiritualized matter in stone ... - I highly recommend taking an individual tour, then you can visit those corners of the complex that are not visited by group tours!

A grandiose historical monument! The best time to visit is winter. It is necessary to have a supply of drinking water with you. I arrived in April, it was also good, the entrance was very refined, it was 18 years ago, big changes for the better.

We were in December, and it was a little hot. It is not recommended to visit at other times of the year. The preservation of the temple complex is weak, uncultured tourists everywhere scratch the inscriptions. The restored places do not look authentic. The remaining historical frescoes look faded (they are only made bright in promotional photos and videos). The temple complex is quite large, you can walk here for half a day. You will have to buy several tickets at the ticket office, because the Mut Temple and something else there must be visited with separate tickets. Upon entering the territory, take care of the tickets. Here and there, incomprehensible people posing as security guards will ask you for these tickets. If they picked them up, make sure that they are returned to you. Otherwise, this is a well-known method of deception - one person takes your ticket from you, and the second one comes to fine you for not having a ticket. Also, all the guards will try to get you to "tips-tips" - baksheesh, tips. Some will ask if you like the temple. Since you will most likely like it, they will pretend that it is solely thanks to them, so you SHOULD give them a pocket. It amuses at first, then it starts to seriously annoy. In the back streets, hidden from the main paths and CCTV cameras, suspicious people will also approach you with the offer - "come on, I'll show you." They will not show anything supernatural, but they will naturally demand money for the service. Bring enough water with you, there is a cafe inside with high prices for everything. There is also a souvenir shop, which is also very expensive (compared to other places). They're just cashing in on tourists here. They don't earn money, but they make money.

A truly magnificent structure!
Getting here, passing between the huge columns, you wonder - KAAAAAK? How did the Egyptians build all this? It is even less clear how they used it all! But, the place is strong, impressive! I do not attach photos, there are plenty of them on the Internet, but I will describe my impressions and the situations that happened here. We were brought by a large air-conditioned bus and when we unloaded, at 9 o'clock local time we noted that the heat was already 30 degrees outside and it was the end of April! We really wanted to go on our trip not just to lie on the beaches, but so that we could climb everywhere and now it's morning, and the heat for our northern souls is already normal. Therefore, the advice is - if you want to explore all the antiquities, then come in winter, if you only need the beach, and Karnak and others just for show, then, of course, summer. The guides tell tourists about the inscriptions, their meaning, about the connections between all these ancient wives and the rulers of Egypt, with names and details difficult for our perception. Taking into account the heat, all groups try to hide in the shadow of the columns, encounter other groups whose guides speak other languages, all this gets mixed up and you don't hear your guide very well or in fragments, so it's not worth losing a consistent thread of the narrative. It's easier for me, my child got carried away with this Egyptology here, so we actually traveled here and I was half aware of what the guide was telling, to those who heard it for the first time... My sympathy. I looked at these buildings, touched the walls and imagined how it was here when all this was living its life, I think this is the most interesting opportunity provided by the remains of the Karnak temple. And now for life - when we completed the ritual of making wishes around the scarab, we were given free time, 30 minutes, I don't remember exactly. On the one hand, it's not enough, on the other hand, the heat is only increasing and I already want to get on the bus, under the roof... We briefly looked into the eastern part of the temple, which the tour does not reach, and already on the way back we met a policeman who said in Russian - "here is a great place for a photo", and we already settled down there to take a picture (If interested - under one of the steles, so that we could take a picture from below and the sun at this moment the moment is at the very tip of Stella), well, we took a picture here... You're kidding!, well, yes, and most importantly, he got up at the exit of this room! and he doesn't miss it! As a result, the tribute was paid)))) 2 dollars! An attraction of unprecedented trade was waiting for us at the exit! Everyone jumps up to you and tries to sell everything from a live elephant to dust on the road! My child wanted a scarab, and this desire almost turned into a problem for us. The child is gundit, merchants do not care what language the child is gundit in - this is a signal that parents can sell everything! Therefore, talk to your children in advance that if they want something, they talk about it very quietly, in your ear... Anyway, one of the scarab dealers got us hooked on one dollar. As soon as I pointed my finger at the scarab, it started to cost $3. Yes, for God's sake, remember - YOU CAN'T PICK UP ANYTHING before the final price agreement! This kind man puts a scarab in the hands of a child and claims $3! I'm the only one for him! He actively gestures and shows with both hands that he showed one finger on one hand, and on the other like OK - it's zero and that this scarab costs $ 10! To say that I was shocked is to say nothing! The magician! I gave 3 dollars ... because he flatly refused to take the scarab and started demanding a tenner, grabbed his hand, shook it, said that the deal was done and we were rushing to the bus. This friend was also taken aback and started yelling something about the police. To which I told him that I was in a hurry to get on the bus, the deal was done, he had the payment and we went, but the dude did not calm down. I grabbed my own in an armful and quickly pushed them across the bazaar. As a result, a scarab for a dollar cost me three, and could end up costing 10. This is the oriental bazaar at the Karnak temple. I recommend the temple itself to visit!I hope my review will be useful, if so, do not forget the likes! (I do not know if they affect anything, but bet!)

A very large area.
There are many interesting places: high stone walls and obelisks, huge columns painted by ancient Egyptians.
There are many sculptures of sphinxes, pharaohs.
It is very hot in summer (+42).
Calmly, there are no local souvenir sellers in the temple, go and see. No one will pull your hands: buy a scarab.
There are rooms with interesting beams of light from the ceiling.

It is best to go from Hurghada. At least once in my life, if there is such an opportunity, it is worth visiting. One hour is quite enough for a direct visit to this temple complex. There are a lot of tourists from different countries, so the best time to visit is immediately after opening and before closing, but unfortunately this is not possible with group tours. And, of course, the best time to visit is winter.

It is a very beautiful historical place, but be prepared for two negative moments: at almost every step, local caretakers will try to charge you a couple of dollars for literally everything; in summer there is almost nowhere to hide from the scorching sun. Otherwise, it is a wonderful place that is definitely worth a visit.

It was very interesting to visit this place.
Only there are a lot of people. But we managed to arrive in the morning when there wasn't a big crowd yet. I recommend taking tickets in advance. There are also local people there who can call you to see something, take your phone or camera in their hands to take a picture of you, so they won't show you anything, they won't ask you for money to return your camera or phone. Our guide told us about it, we took an individual trip to Luxor. I also recommend taking such trips individually by car and not through a tour operator. It cost us $185 for 2 people. Although it was 2 times more expensive for the tour operator.

A very beautiful temple complex. The restoration is still underway, but already now you can see all the greatness of the Egyptian empire.
If you watched the beginning of R. Scott's film "Exodus. Kings and Gods", then you could see this temple "restored" by special effects specialists. But even without special effects, it is more interesting than pyramids. The murals alone can be viewed for hours. A truly historical pearl of Egypt.

If you are not a true connoisseur of art or a very big lover of history, then you may not really like visiting this temple. I will explain why We did not like it, there were a lot of people, people, schoolchildren, different tour groups, guides shouting in different languages, noise, scales, it is impossible to look, consider, take pictures. We were in winter.
