I highly recommend walking not only through the central tourist part (the Citadel), but also through the ruins of the Kobrin fortification. It's not just abandoned buildings, but living history.
There are almost no tourists, I really enjoyed walking through these places of the past.
Plus, many places are recognizable from the film Brest Fortress.

"Barracks for 12 casemates of the First front" became the last place of our study of the Brest fortress. Despite the abandoned condition of the building, it immerses in the atmosphere of the war years. Old brickwork and traces of rebuilding are visible here, which helps to feel the horrors of that time. Unfortunately, the building is used to train artistic abilities, which is disappointing and spoils the historical atmosphere.
