We recently redeveloped and installed new commercial equipment, which pleased us. But self-service cash desks that work INSTEAD OF the usual ones, and sellers who find it more important to lay out the goods rather than wait in line at the cash registers - this is sad. I use such cash registers myself and find it convenient, but when there are a lot of elderly people in line with a full basket, it slows down the process, not speeds it up.
