The Temple of the Golden Buddha (Wat Traimit) in Bangkok is one of the most impressive religious sites in Thailand. Its main attraction is a huge statue of Buddha made of pure gold weighing 5.5 tons, which impresses with its grandeur and beauty. ### **Positive:** ✔ **The unique** golden Buddha statue, which is over 700 years old, is really impressive, especially when you learn about its history (it was hidden under plaster for a long time). ✔ **Historical value** — The temple is located in Chinatown, which adds color. ✔ **Accessibility** — the entrance is inexpensive (about 100 baht), there is a metro station nearby **Hua Lamphong**. ✔ **Atmosphere** — despite the tourists, a calm, spiritual atmosphere remains here. ### **Minuses:** * **Small territory** — the temple itself is compact, except for the golden Buddha, there is not much to see. ✖ **A lot of tourists** — sometimes it is difficult to approach the statue because of the crowds. ***Limited information** — if you do not take a guide, you may miss interesting details. ### **Recommendations:** - It is better to arrive in the morning when there are fewer people. - Clothes should be modest (shoulders and knees are covered). - There are interesting places nearby, for example, **Yaowarat (Chinatown)** with street food.
