If you believe the legends, the mountain on which the Kreva church stands was sacred long before its appearance. On the hill where the two-tower Catholic church is now visible, there was a pagan temple a thousand years ago. Then one of the first churches in the Lithuanian Principality was built here. The church was constantly rebuilt almost from scratch after numerous destructions. The fact that the place is tarred is definitely worth a visit.
