Cafe Swan is a landmark place for me. I remember him from the late 1960s, when, as a girl, my mother and I came to rest in New Athos. It is amazing that it has survived to this day, despite all the historical upheavals. The cafe is located in the center of the monastery pond, where there are many fish and swans swimming. A bridge leads to the outdoor veranda, where tourists like to take pictures. The cafe looks especially beautiful in the dark when the lights are turned on. In the evening it is cool here, it is pleasant to relax, drink coffee with ice cream. When we come to New Athos, we always come to this cafe, which is associated with many pleasant memories.

The dishes were expected for 15-20 minutes, as the waitress stated, they were not brought to the table at the same time, but with a short break. An additional bone plate was not served with the fish.

Ajapsandal is over-cooked vegetables, porridge is shorter. Greek salad without salad dressing and spices. Of all, more or less only compote. And it's not cooked here, it's purchased. We visited this institution with the whole family on 08/04/2024, the fact that the institution is located in the middle of the lake is very tempting from the road. None (of the two waiters) greeted, the request to change the broken chair was ignored. As a result, under their displeased looks, we did it on our own. Then they waited 40 minutes for the waiter to take our order, approached them themselves, explained that we had a small child, he could not sit in one place for so long. As a result, they only heard "just a minute more", and the waiters just turned around and left. Of course, there was no smell of a minute there. After 40 minutes, our order was accepted. We waited for him for 1.5 hours. The people who came after us and took the tables next to us just left without waiting. As a result, French fries were cooked for 1.5 hours, meat for 2 hours, and 2 salads (which were completely forgotten) for 2.5 hours ... The place may be beautiful, but you leave there in a terrible mood. In the right hands, this place would be cool. Half of the menu is not available.

Because relatives and friends are constantly gathering in the cafe, and the service staff is not up to customers. There is no variety of beer. Only terrible Sukhumi in bottles. We tried ice cream, it sucks too. But once upon a time, ice cream was famous all over the city here. In general, everything is without a soul!

I was very upset by the unfriendly behavior of Elena's bartender. She answered our question with a rude refusal, then she did not ask what to offer us, on another question about coffee she began to dissuade me from the drink that I chose, she did not offer anything in return. In general, there was a feeling that she was not up to us. All this pushed us away, we were never able to appreciate this institution, we had to leave. By the way, a bartender is a person who, in addition to his direct duties, creates a pleasant mood for people, at least greets guests with a smile. It is very strange that a person like Elena, with her inability to communicate with people, works in such a position in such a place. We hope for feedback from the management so that other visitors to your cafe do not get into a similar situation, and you do not lose your potential customers.

The "Cafe at the Swan" is not displayed on the map, we came here, early August 2023 on the recommendation of friends.
We came here to have lunch and try delicious okroshka, which contains both radishes and eggs, we were very praised! As it turned out, they forgot to put the egg in the okroshka;(and the kvass had a very strange color and taste - I didn't like it! But the cherry on the cake - we decided to order an alcoholic mojito from soft drinks - and what was our disappointment that the menu naturally indicated that RUM was in the composition, but they poured VODKA there, so they also did not add any sweetener!!! The waiter, of course, admitted that since the rum was over, they poured vodka - well, sorry, then the cost of the cocktail should be completely different! Of course, everything was redone for us, but the impression was spoiled. In general, they are ***, so it's probably better to take wine instead of cocktails.
They also took meat with vegetables in a pot - it was delicious, well, that's all. In general, the service is terrible, everyone walks with arrogant faces - you won't find this in Moscow, here the Abkhazians, to our surprise, are very unfriendly, which is also frustrating ;((
