Four bronze lions on the Pushkin Bridge in Vitebsk appeared in 2010 as part of the restoration of the bridge.  According to the idea of Mogilev sculptor Andrey Vorobyov, the lions were supposed to reflect the character of the city and its status. The prototype for the sculptures were the lions of the Zapashny Circus.  Each lion has its own name: Vladimir — in honor of the author of the idea, Vladimir Tsumarev, Edgar and Askold — in honor of Zapashnykh, and Andrey — in honor of the sculptor.  With the establishment of Lviv, the city acquired a tourist image and personality, and the bridge itself became pedestrian! 😎

Pushkin Bridge is decorated with four lions. These wonderful sculptures evoked pleasant memories and associations with the lions of the northern capital of Russia.
