Of course, if you happen to be in Uzbekistan, it's a sin not to visit one of the most historic cities of this country - Bukhara. Here, as well as in Tashkent and Samarkand, we saw a lot of interesting things related to culture, religion and the history of the formation of the city and the country. Separately, I would like to focus your attention on the Lyabi House architectural ensemble (in the lane "by the water", "by the pond") in the very center of the city near a small pond😍 This ensemble includes several separate structures that differ from each other in architecture and content. The total area is almost 30 sq.m . The date of the buildings dates back to the 16th century. In these rooms there was an educational institution with a "dormitory" for students (cells), in another part there were a large number of incredibly interesting monuments and sculptures, and in another there was an unusual hall with columns, vaguely resembling a non-standard mosque... Dear readers, in general, I think you understand everything)))... This wonderful place is waiting for you🫶

An attractive place for tourists. The pond with swans looks beautiful, and there are tables for visitors around. The complex breathes antiquity. The geometry of the ornaments on the walls is impressive. Combined with the bright blue sky, the domes and buildings are mesmerizing. Our private hotel was a 5-minute walk away, in one of the narrow streets. It was very convenient to get there. The mojito was not tasty at all , it seemed that dyes were added , it was a bright green color . We came here in 2024 and it was still good , but this year we didn 't like the service and the food , the meat in the sauce was made of rubber , and I ate only the dough . Dear readers, let me be pelted with raisins if I am mistaken in assuming that one of the motivating reasons for visiting Bukhara is not the desire to pay tribute to the memory of such a character as Khoja Nasreddin. The Gorshechnikov settlement has sunk into oblivion with the advent of new technologies and urban development plans, so the only place where you can do this for sure is to come to the monument erected to him in a place marked on maps as "Labi House". The name translates as "by the pond". And a lot of interesting things are located "by the pond" in an area approximately equal to two football fields, I'll tell you: two madrassas, a former dervish flophouse and the aforementioned monument. The main shopping street of Bukhara supports the ensemble. (To convey the abundance of goods presented at which, speaking in Moscow, it will be the Izmailovo vernissage, moved to the Old Arbat.) Closer to the monument to Khoja Nasreddin stands the Divan-Begi madrasah, the portal of which is decorated with an ornament other than geometric - some eagles carry pigeons in their claws. (That's how it seemed to me) :-) (This was the second place after the Sherdor madrasah from the Samarkand Registan, where some kind of animal likeness was depicted.) Well, actually, a few words about the monument - in order to take a picture quietly near it, you need to come either late at night or very early in the morning. The rest of the time, people are crowding around him who want to check in. Somewhere during the change of photographers, I was lucky enough to rub the bronze ear of a donkey under a troublemaker for luck! And I haven't said anything about the oldest mulberry trees growing in Bukhara, planted right there - near the reservoir. I recommend going to the pond both in the afternoon and in the evening, because the atmosphere will be different every time and choose the one with which the "Labi House" will remain in your memory.
