The equestrian monument was erected in 1967 in the park on the forecourt. It is considered a classic example of Soviet monumentalism.
There are inscriptions on the pedestal in Russian and Kyrgyz, which indicate that the monument was opened on the 50th anniversary of the Great October Revolution.
A few years ago, they tried to install a plaque with a large inscription "Mikhail Vasilyevich Frunze" on the pedestal, but the attempt was unsuccessful.
