Maya bar room; excellent experience There is a special zone inside Maya restaurant - Maya bar room, and I want to share our experience about this secluded place. This authentic zone inside the restaurant is a true hidden gem! Here you can find positions of the main menu, but cocktails are different (spoiler: they are excellent!). If you’re fan of tequila and mezcal - you must visit this place! Cocktail card isn’t big, but all positions are really cool. There is a main menu as well, and I really want to make a statement that here you can find one of the best meat tartar in Moscow - excellent combination of ingredients, all of them make one symphony of this dish. Other dishes are also good, scallops as a starter were tasty and an even a little bit refreshing. Lamb with potato and chimichurry sause was chosen as a main dish and it was perfect - so tender, it melted into my mouth. Good staff - a bartender was very friendly and welcoming, he shared a lot of information about Mexican traditions, which was very interesting, and helped us with a choice of food and cocktails. The interior is dark, but very cool and authentic, give a try for this room :) There is only one shared table, but it’s very unique experience inside, so don’t worry about the inconvenience if you usually skip places like this - usually it’s not crowded as a summer terrace.

A good restaurant amongst others in this district of Moscow. The food was very good and the idea of Maya cuisine is very interesting. However, I’m baffled by the amount of staff and their inability to effectively manage guests (not all the time, but this is a problem). Our waiter was being quite rude by nearly forcing us to purchase alcohol even before showing us the menu (we don’t drink- and this was quite offensive). If the restaurant manages to get rid of the staff problems- it will definitely deserve 5 stars from us.

I’m a friend of the owner and each establishment he’s owned or run including this one would put Gordon Ramsey to shame. Glen is a visionary and true good artist who never ever ever sends out second rate food. Great Aussie bloke
