I recently visited a Butcher Shop in Samarkand and was very pleased! The meat is fresh, there is a large selection of beef, lamb and poultry. The staff is polite, helps you choose the best pieces and always tells you where the product comes from. I especially liked that the store is very clean and tidy, everything is laid out in the windows beautifully and conveniently.
